L ondon fashion turned out to be one of the most sophisticated seasons in recent years – brave young designers like Emilia Wickstead (Emilia Wickstead), Sheila McKain-Waid (Daks), Todd Lynn (Todd Lynn), Sid Bryan (Sister by Sibling) - they added a splendid touch of modernity in their collections. It was a huge parade of colors and prints in a range of A-line and pencil skirts, chic dresses, oversized coats, fur fashions, veiled dresses… we believed that all soon will be simulated in fashion stores around the world! Gemmers, this is your style update with these current trends, so here’s our special trend picks that ruled the catwalk on LFW AW’13:
Plastic Fantastic
PVC is totally swag this season – from skirts, trench coats and cocktail dresses, this shiny fabric gave a new version of polish to day and night looks.
Black Lace
Sexing up this season with laces, tulle unveiled! Look at how Tom Ford, Todd Lyn, Kristian Aadnevik and Clements Ribeiro were playing around with the dark shades of lace this season, which gave us sensual and mysterious looks. Like!
Faboulous Fur
Fur and feathers ruled the runway at London Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2013, applied to cuffs and collars, hemlines and hoods. Designers like Felder Felder, Moschino, Markfast, Osman, Issa London – they off making fur fashion as a key part of their collections. A fluffi-ly sophisticated look, y’all!
Animal Instinct
Once again, animal prints are back and shaping up to be among this season’s most noteworthy prints! Horse, zebra, leopard, giraffe, snakes… Designers at London Fashion Week put a new spin on the standard animal print from top to toe.
Oversized Silhouettes
In contrast to form fitting pieces we have seen on runways so far, LFW ’13 showed up a huge trend for upcoming autumn/winter 2013/14. Skinny pants no more – now hidden silhouettes are in! The runways featured wide range of baggier trousers and oversize coats. Cool!
Neon Brights
Neon colors are ditching the standard black and so fashion 2.0! Bold is the buzzword for this theme. See how Antipodium and Malene Oddershede Bach came up with mega flashing colorways.
Split Skirt
The split skirt trend continues from spring to autumn! This time, Topshop, Osman, and Emilio De La Moreno tore up the skirts thigh high.
Aren’t they cool? Now… How to make them ‘wearable’? Stay tune and find out the answer next week… only emmagem.com!
