Hot Summertime Nail Ideas To Try NOW!

The weather’s maddeningly hot these days, so July is a great time to hit the beaches or go on that island holiday you’ve always wanted. We’ve shown you before how to make summer’s it colour work to your advantage, but today we’re going to share a few simple manicure ideas that will perk up your mood, even though you’re slaving away in the office.

If you can’t get yourself to the beach, you bring the beach to where you are.

Glitter-Dipped Tips

This manicure will never go out of style. A dark base gives a vampy effect, while a clear or light-coloured base is sensible enough for work.

  1. Paint nails with a base colour of your choice. (You can also leave nails bare for a transparent look that lasts longer!)
  2. Apply glitter nail polish on the tips of the nails. Repeat process a few times to get more glitter on your nails.
  3. Finish with topcoat.

Pastel Easter Eggs

Topcoats packed to the brim with multicoloured pastel glitter remind us of speckled eggs. Easy to apply and looks like a million dollars every time!

  1. Paint nails with two coats of pastel nail polish and allow to dry completely.
  2. Saturate the brush with pastel glitter topcoat and apply on entire nail.
  3. Repeat if necessary and finish with topcoat.

Do The Irregular

Who said manicures have to be matchy-matchy? This is one of my personal favourites, since I get to use more than one colour for my manicure.

  1. You can use colours from the same family, or mix it up with your favourite colour combination – the possibilities are endless!
  2. Leave them plain with only topcoat, or dress them up with matte topcoat, crackle nail polish or shimmery topcoat.

Wrap ‘Em Up!

Nail wraps are the lazy girl’s best friend, because they’re so easy to apply and look so professionally-done, so fret not if you don’t have steady hands.

  1. Stick onto nails, and file off the edges in a downwards motion.
  2. Finish with topcoat to seal and open edges. This makes the wraps last longer.
  3. Top up every alternate day to prevent the wraps from peeling.
