Many of us want long luscious locks, but it’s not always easy! A lot of people have trouble growing their hair out. So if you’re one of those people, never fear. With these helpful tips and a little TLC, you’ll soon have the gorgeous long hair that you want!

1. Avoid tying your hair back.

Pulling your hair back into a tight ponytail is cute and convenient in hot weather, but it’s really bad for your hair. It yanks at the roots causing hair loos and weakening hair follicles. So leave your hair down as much as possible.

2. Massage while washing.

Every time you wash your hair, it’s very important to give your scalp a good massage. While applying shampoo, gently massage your scalp in small circular motions with the pads of your fingers. This will stimulate blood flow, thus encouraging hair growth.

3. Avoid heat/chemical damage.

Damaging your hair with constant heat styling, hair dyes or other chemicals will stunt its growth. So while you’re trying to grow your hair out, let it air dry as much as possible. If you must heat style, make sure to use a good heat protectant!

4. Don’t cut it just to encourage growth.

Let’s put it this way, if you cut your nails, does it make them grow longer? Of course not! That applies to hair as well. We’re constantly told that our hair needs to be trimmed regularly to encourage growth when that simply isn’t true. However, it is important to trim if you have split ends because there is no way to bind split ends back together, they’ll just continue to unravel upwards, damaging the rest of your hair.

5. Keep your hair healthy.

This should go without saying, because healthy hair will of course grow faster and better. Sadly, people don’t seem to make the effort. Invest in good shampoos and conditioners and make the time for a deep conditioning mask at least once a week. These are the basic solutions to any hair problems.

6. Keep yourself healthy.

Finally, you need to make sure you’re in good health because your skin and hair reflect what’s going on internally. Hair, in particular, can only grow well if you’re well nourished. So make sure you’re getting all the nutrients you need. A great supplement to take is pre-natal vitamins. Believe it or not, these vitamins have just the things you need for healthy skin and hair!
