Proudly made in Malaysia, Ronasutra specialises in 100% mineral-based makeup. Mineral makeup is said to be extremely gentle on skin, with natural cooling and soothing properties. Those with sensitive or problematic skin often swear by mineral foundations and face powders as they are supposed to help improve the condition of acne, and won’t clog pores or cause irritation.
This fairly new brand (Ronasutra was launched in 2007) has since expanded its product collection from its first product, the 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation & Powder, to a wider range of base makeup products including foundation, concealer and blusher. The powder foundation comes in an impressive array of 8 shades so every girl can find her perfect shade easily.

Formulated with minerals, Samina powders are free from animal products, chemicals, talc, paraben and alcohol. It’s also the first halal-approved makeup brand in Europe.
Granted, the prices don’t come cheap, but with such a devoted following and strong support from the media, we can see why Samina makeup is making its mark in the UK.

Founder Miranda Bond was insipired to create Inika because of a book she read, Hormone Heresy by Dr. Sherrill Sellman. Miranda realised that her inability to conceive naturally was partly caused by the products she used, which contained chemicals that worsened her struggle with endometriosis. Three months after stopping the usage of cosmetics and skincare products, she fell pregnant.
Inika is all about holistic beauty. Not only is it certified 100% halal, all the ingredients used are also certified organic or vegan, and certified cruelty-free. The products don’t contain additives or fillers, and each ingredient found in the bottle or tube is there for a reason. They use a lot of organic Aloe, Calendula and Evening Primrose Oil, all three of which are known to be great anti-irritants. Instead of artificial fragrances, organic essential oils are used to scent the products.
Inika Light Reflect Highlighting Creme, AUS $39 (approximately RM115)
It’s pretty rare for organic or halal beauty brands to come up with niche products like highlighters, but Inika’s looks really impressive. It uses natural mineral pigments and mica to capture and disperse light for skin that glows.
