Let’s drink to beauty: tea blends for good skin

Drinking tea has always been a common practice, either for wellbeing or to alleviate mild symptoms of illnesses. As a tea drinker myself, I’m often looking for interesting teas to try out, especially those that have unique benefits.

Yogi: Cinnamon Vanilla Healthy Skin Tea

Recently, after a satisfying iHerb haul, I picked up a box of Yogi Tea, mainly because I saw Miley Cyrus sharing a pic on Instagram. Containing a blend of Nettle Leaf, Mullein Leaf and Schisandra Berry, the tea is said to hydrate the skin’s tissues for a healthy glow. Truth be told, it tastes pleasant on its own, but I’m still very early into the process to actually notice any difference.

Miyu: Hydrate Mi Beauty Tea

Created by Canadian-born Connie Tai, Miyu is a boutique beauty brand that combines inner and outer beauty in the form of a serum and beauty tea duo. Inspired by the teaching of ancient Chinese philosophies, Miyu’s Hydrate Mi Tea is a antioxidant- and Vitamin C-rich loose leaf blend of green rooibos, goji berries, rose petals and snow pear essence.

The Seventh Duchess: Grace Organic Beauty Tea

100% organic, this artisan tea brand doesn’t only look good (look at the canisters!), it’s also very popular as a holistic alternative. White Tea, Silver Lime, Rosehip Shells and Rose Petals help promote a clear, healthy complexion for a lit-from-within glow. If anything, it still makes for a lovely all-day brew to sip on at work.

Dr Stuart’s: Skin Purify Tea

Red Clover, Nettle Leaves, Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, Lemon Balm and Chamomile come together in a skin-soothing blend that purifies the system, leaving your skin clearer and more hydrated. Because it’s 100% herbal, it’s also caffeine-free (yay!). If your daily routine consists of unhealthy food and caffeinated drinks, it might be helpful to add this into your detox regime to boost skin’s cleansing process.

The Republic Of Tea: Get Gorgeous Tea

This fruity, tart blend contains organic Rooibos, Hibiscus, Red Clover, Chaste Berry, Pomegranate and more, resulting in a red tea that internet reviewers either love or hate. However, there are lots of comments singing praises for Get Gorgeous Tea, saying that it helped to clear up problematic skin. Apart from this cute pink can, The Republic Of Tea also has a wide selection of other interesting choices, like Get Smart (for memory), Get Lost (for weight control), Get Clean (detox) and more.

Aloha: Beauty Tea

Though not FDA-evaluated (as with most of the other teas listed here, since the tea isn’t intended to diagnose/treat/cure/prevent diseases), the caffeine-free blend supports luminous skin, boosts radiance and gets your skin glowing. Aloha’s Beauty Tea is blended from Green Rooibos, Hibiscus Flower, Rosehip (notice a pattern with these 3 ingredients), Sea Buckthorn and Dandelion Root.
