Question: Men’s Vest

Oct 20, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Fashion, Question

hello!

do u have vest for men? formal kind of vest :)

it’s for a dinner… xD

shaz

Hey Shaz,

Depending on your budget, you could opt to tailor make a formal vest or you could always go to a departmental store like Metrojaya, Jusco, Robinsons, Parkson in the men’s department to get ready made vests. OF course, the first one would be better as it is tailor fitted to suit your own body measurements.

A lot of guys (and girls included) go all the way to Bangkok to get their very own tailor made suits for a cheap price (as they’re famous for that). Even Mr. Kenny Sia, famous Malaysian blogger made a suit ( plus a couple of shirts, ties and pants) in Bangkok for RM650 and in Phuket for RM500.

As for online shops, I’ve seen Wearever U Like selling Men’s Vest. They have a couple of vests for men, formal and casual. Here’s a formal one:

6 Buttoned Vest, RM46. Looks formal enough to be worn for a dinner.

ZIpper Full Lined Vest, RM56. Not so formal looking, more casual, but it could work, depending on how formal your dinner event is.

For other men’s clothes shopping site, please view our men’s category on mofsd.

i was wondering if anyone know where to find cute headband ala Blair Waldorf’s?

Anna

Hi babes,

I desperately need to know where i can get the ‘Blair Waldorf” headbands??? I totally love the look…..
Thanks you…

We did a headband question few months ago, when all the rage over Blair started. Her character practically made everyone start wearing headbands like it was cool again :)

  1. THIS JUST IN! These Blair-esque headbands are all over DIVA 1Utama. Go get them there. Prices are from RM15 and above. There are some simple ones and also some VERY Blair-ish types:)

  2. Here’s a headband from Peep Boutique, RM9. Topshop and Diva Inspired:)

  3. If you don’t mind paying for international shipping, here’s a shop called The Head Bandit which specializes in making Blair headbands. Haha. Each are priced at $20-$29.
  4. Buy a simple headband and a ribbon. Make a big bow and super glue it on the headband!:) Then you got your very own DIY Blair Ribbon headband!:)
  5. Here’s also a tutorial on how to make this headband inspired by Blair. Read all about how to make this DIY Blair Headband here!:)

  6. If you’re the crafty kind, try making this DIY headband using cloth. There’s a free tutorial by Heather Bailey where she teaches you step by step how to make a cloth headband. Heather Bailey is a superdy duper creative designer who sews awesome items for sale. She does like pillow covers, pillows, crafts things and many many more.

    DIY your own headband

  7. Alternately, you can also buy Heather Bailey’s Trash Ties. It is her very own trademarked creation of a versatile band which can be used to tie anything, and any style.Long Trash Ties are USD$9.95

    This is for the headband

See how versatile this band is:) I want one!!!

Question: Buying Perfumes Online

Oct 18, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Fashion, Question

Hi there
does anyone know where to buy fragance or perfume online?
and is it cheaper to buy online?
i’m currently looking for Issey Miyake fragrance.
but am interested in other fragrance too.

Thanks! =)

Sylvia

Perfumes, we all love to smell good, don’t we? :) There are many online sites that sell perfumes. A few do actually sell with full price, some with reduced price because, hey, online shops are usually cheaper than retails. Some of them just sell replica’s of the scent, but they’re actually selling other types of perfume with that kinda smell, if you get what I mean? I’ve described below which ones sell authentic perfumes and which sells rejected ones and which ones just sell some sorta oil that resembles famous perfumes.

Happy Shopping, Sylvia:)

Question: How to wear a Pareo

Question: Plus sized leggings

Oct 10, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Question

Are they any online shops which are selling PlUS SIZE leggings?

Gwen

Hey Gwen,

Plus size leggings are a bit hard to buy online as most of them gets the free sized ones which may fit a size 12 maximum. Try going to UK-based shops to find proper sizes for plus size to really find a good quality one. Dorothy Perkins and Marks&Spencer has plus sized leggings. Rest assured, the quality is much better than those that gets them from suppliers and such. Those would be at about RM30-RM40 and above. If you want from a cheaper range, try Jusco departmental stores. I saw a few leggings up to sizes XXL and XXXL.

There is an online shop that sells plus size tights. It is called Plusfabulous. They sell tights up to size XXL. RM26. Of course, Curvychics has knee length ones for RM19 in purple, green and black.

Hope that helps!

Anyone else knows of anywhere to get plus size leggings?

Question: Tights/Leggings

Oct 8, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Fashion, Question, Shop Online, Shopping

hi babes,
is anyone selling long legging in white colour???
its long until knee..
:)

thanx..

Tania

hi … do you know where i can get red long leggings ??

Killah

Hey Killah and Tania and everyone else,

Tights or some call them leggings are available in practically any boutique-ish shops that sells clothes as they are an essential accessory:) You can wear it on a casual day out, or even on a night out clubbing. Just pair them with the right top and accessorize, and you’re good to go. Gone are the days where we wear simple black tights anymore. Get them in various colours and prints:)

Where to get tights/leggings?

I believe Soxworld/isocks has tights available in many colours. There are also other socks shops that usually stock up on tights. Marks and Spencer also has tights in a few colours the last time i saw. Owh, and just go to Sungai Wang, and you’ll find abundance of tights all over each shop.

Anyone else knows where to get tights as requested by Killah and Tania?

Here are some tights from the online shops:

Miss Bow Boutique stocks up on tights at all times. Whenever I visit their store, I’m sure to find some tights available:) Check out the whole list of tights (including funky ones) here.

Question: Handbag care

Oct 7, 2008 Author: yetmee | Filed under: Fashion, Question

Hi, does anyone know where i can find a place that restores and cleans high quality leather hadbags?
smitten

Hi, smitten, we know of a Singaporean chain that specialises in restoring high quality leather handbags. They are called bagspa. So cute! Spa for the bags. You can transact online or go straight to the shop. How cool is that!

Some of the “symptoms” that your bags have that can be sent to the spa for cleaning and restoration:

  • Color Fading
  • Color transfer
  • Denim/Jeans dye transfer
  • Dry & Stiffen out leather
  • Freckles
  • Folds, creases, and winkles
  • Ink Marks
  • Make Up
  • Musty Odors
  • Oil Stain Marks
  • Oxidation
  • Tarnished Metal
  • Water/Liquid Stain Marks
  • Wear & Tear
  • Yellowish/dull

So if you have a bag that you absolutely adore and there was a huge stain in it and it has been kept in the cupboard all this years, it is time to take it out and treat it to a spa at My Bag Spa!:)

Does anyone know anywhere else that can restore and repair handbags in Malaysia?

Share with us if you know any tips or know a place that restores bags.

Where is mybagspa located? (more…)

Question: Obi Belt

Oct 4, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Fashion, Question

hey, anyone knows where i can get an obi belt? leather or satin.

Min

Obi belt, I assume is the belt that looks like what the Star Wars people would wear, right? lols. Well, I was browsing through La Belle Closet and they seem to have one on their model.

(It was actually from a dress she bought)

So I went looking at 1Utama today and saw a similar looking one at Nichii. Maybe you can check there? It is not a satin type like the one in the picture, but more of a faux leather type.

Anyone else knows of where to get these “obi” belts?

Question: Where to get Lioele cosmetics?

Sep 30, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Beauty, Fashion, Question, Shopping

Hi.
Does anyone know where i can get Lioele cosmetics in M’sia??

Lyn

Hey Lyn!

I believe Lioele Cosmetics is a Korean Brand? I don’t think its available at cosmetic shops yet in Malaysia (Unless shops like Sasa carries them). I searched online and found that Lowyat.net has a seller selling these make ups. It is a pre order thing where you will have to buy and wait for it to be shipped to Malaysia :D The seller actually owns an online shop called Beauty Corner. Check it out for more details. Here are a few products from Lioele Cosmetics.

Question: Designers’ end of season clothes

Sep 27, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Fashion, Question, Shopping

Hello,

First I want to thank you for your excellent work building this website.

I’d like to know some address of clothing discount stores who sell designers’ end of season clothes or their salvage clothes, not outlets.

Could you help me ?

Thanks a lot !

Gigi

Hey Gigi,

Thanks for the compliments:) As for the end season clothes, I think you can get those items from that place in Cheras called Queens Park. I think they have FJ Benjamin (Guess, La Senza, Roul), Espirit, MNG(and a few others which i’m not sure of) which sells end season clothes for a fraction of their real price. Im not sure if its still end season shops at Queen’s Park.

Also, there’s a Melium Outlet too. Located at KL. Sells items at like 90% off!! Melium group has items from Aigner, Aseana, Hugo Boss, Emilio Pucci, Tods, and many many more…

Anyone been there lately? (more…)

Question: Pareo Skirts

Sep 13, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Fashion, Lifestyle, Question, Shop Online

hi, my i know where i can get a pareo skirt to match my kebaya…

Alice

Raya is coming up! We all need those baju kebayas and kurungs for all the yummy open houses, yums!:)

Pareo from Fashion Fetish

If you’re wondering what are Pareo, they are basically just “sarongs” or wraparound skirts. It is a Tahitian word (From what wiki told me). You know like how we wear those sarongs at the beach. Those are basically Pareos.

The basic ones are basically the sarongs and there are many ways to tie them. Men and women alike can wear a pareo. Like guys in Hawaii or even in Malaysia :) Some people use some sort of accessory to tie it up together. Watch a video on the many ways to tie a Pareo on youtube here. (This video is so informative on how to tie Pareo/Sarongs. Now I feel like going to Hawaii and wearing a sarong (mengada me)! It is from this website called Pareo.com)

If you want ready made, tied already Pareos, (more…)

How do you store your bags?

Sep 12, 2008 Author: karenmarie | Filed under: Boutique, Fashion, Lifestyle, Question, Shop Online, Shopping

Hello. Im searching for coat/bag hanger that the hooks look like in this picture to hang my bags. Anybody know where can I get them? Hopefully at a reasonable price.

*Pic credit to xuansgift.blogspot.com

p/s: arent these jewellery stands cute & sweet?I want them as well but I donat hve any jewellery..bummer!!

addy

Ok, admit it, we all have so many bags until our cupboards are so full. As a messy person that I am, I usually come home and put the bags wherever there’s place and leave them there until my mum comes and nags me. lol.

How do YOU store your handbags?

Most people find it hard to store bags if they have limited space in their rooms (or for those who do not have a walk in closet). Ooh, how I want a walk in closet when I grow up! lols.

Walk in Closet from the container store

So, since some of us don’t have the luxury of parading bags properly in a closet, here are some ways to store your handbags:

In boxes/baskets. I stay in a typical Malaysian house, and I have one room to myself(no walk ins for me), so the best thing I did was chuck some in a laundry basket thingy. Works well with boxes and any other container like a chest or other big storage area.
