There’s this group of personal trainers and fitness instructors out there who truly live their lives according to the fitness principal that they believe in. At getactive ,three young personal trainers headed by the torpedo fit Chloe Lai, 32 years old, do just that. They are health enthusiasts who believe in daily work outs (they have a strict fitness regime for themselves) , they are into triathlons and capoiera. Chloe is also a Les Mills RPM instructor and all personal trainers at getactive are ACE (American Council of Exercise) accredited.
getactive was started by Chloe some time last year , a trained and certified personal trainer with the American Council of Exercise, she used to train at commercial gyms and had always entertained the idea of someday being a mobile gym instructor. But the idea somehow evolved and she started a small gym of her own in Damansara Perdana for a few months and early this year moved to Solaris in Mont Kiara. Situated just across from Cold Storage in a three storey shoplot which they occupy two , it is lean and efficient. GetActive only has two classes for pilates and yoga on thursdays and saturdays, the rest of the time it is strictly focused on personal training.
I’ve been a gym member since last year and boy was I so happy to finally get a membership and start exercising. The first few months was wow, so semangat. Go almost every week. At one point, I even lost weight (minor minor weight) but still, I did feel much better exercising. All those body combat and yoga classes really works.
Then, as time passed by, I got lazy. . .
Do you exercise?
I know its all healthy to exercise, I do feel damn good after exercising, but I tried working 9-6 and I literally had no time during weekdays to go to the gym. Even worst when you have to take public transport back home.
But exercising is fun, especially when you have a gym kaki and talking while on thread mills and gossiping while showering is much fun!
I should start my exercising regime soon. I need to fit into awesome clothes and feel good about my body. . .
ok, back to the main reason I wrote this article. . .I need to get gym clothes as my old ones are ahem, still there, but I need brand spanking new ones for my new exercise regime.
(I need to look the part to start exercising again)
(tsk tsk tsk, excuses to shop only!)
Rushed in last night after combat class just had to share my latest discovery with my girlfriends, it’s all about the Ultra Invisibra TM. It really is quite invincible as far as holding us up is concerned. How often have we wondered how JLo’s managed to look perky in her award winning belly button plunging neckline Gucci dress?
I think it is really challenging to wear any type of deep plunging neckline dress because all that pushed up, cleavage effect is basically lost as we submit our bodies to the natural effects of gravity. But I seriously believe I may have found the answer to this so called “problem”, three guesses and maybe a prize…. yes , yes ,the Ultra InvisibraTM. There are all kinds of stick-on bras in the market but none like this one, I dare say. It’s all about the push up effect, that’s all there is to it but how does a couple of pieces of stickers make or break a successful seductive outfit?

Like this one from Asos.com
Well, it surely will work if the stickers allows you to push pull your glories any which way and height that you want, which is what the Invisibra does. Plus it is seamless which means you can wear even the thinnest tshirt jersey and it wouldn’t trace, did I mention it looks invisible because the material is transparent. The nipple pad is a tad thin, not transparent, is nude in color, the thinness means , oh I am struggling to put it delicately, it covers but perkiness will make its own point.

How the bra works, looks so cool huh?
It is touted as “the only truly backless and strapless bra”, not a claim made lightly. It gives the same type of push up effect without visible bra lines (VBL). Good to wear with bareback and halter tops and any evening dress for a great girl’s night out. No need to worry that the detachable bra cups have run out of place or that the angle is just a bit off. It also looks soft and natural and brave in the face of gravity.
As for me, I have always had a problem with my sports bra especially in combat class, as my Adidas top does not come padded. After several front kicks, back kicks and jumps combined with some real rigorous cross punches, I usually find that my “boobs” have become a uni-boob, course as I jump the bra cups dislodge and move, so I am constantly checking and tugging to ensure that I don’t look like a sweaty alien. Besides, the cups are hard and look unnatural. And I don’t wear the other stick on ones, cause my skin reacts to them , they are also thicker and traces against the tight clingy top.
But in this case, the Invisibra is made of hypoallergenic material, designed to prevent discomfort, allergies and skin irritations. The fact that they are made out of medical adhesive means that they will stick on skin without causing pain , discomfort or allergies. They did not unpeel despite the intense soaking from all the sweat and peeled off painlessly after that. I’m quite impressed that after 5 hours of gym-ming, the bras still look pretty much as when I stuck them on, no crumples or loose ends. Since it is water resistant, it would be great for my cute triangle 3 piece swimsuit, except I’ll have to get a new a pair as they are not reusable.

Left breast without Ultra InvisibraTM, right one with Ultra InvisibraTM
The amazing thing is that despite it being backless and strapless it still managed to give support and lift breasts naturally and comfortably, was it my imagination or did my breasts actually looked a tad shapelier…emmm.
The Ultra InvisibraTM is available at leading pharmacies like Watsons, Guardians and independent pharmacies or just shop online at www.quantumshowcase.com.my
The damage to your pocket is RM39.90 for two pairs but the results probably raises the self esteem to immeasurable heights…

I am what many would call a “gym success story”. I have lost 60 pounds in just over a year.
By now, I should have caught some of your attention, so I’ll let you in on how I did it and why I did it and perhaps this will serve as something you can relate to should you decide to join me on my journey to the perfect 36-25-34 figure
It all started back in December 2004. I had just finished my SPM examination and decided to finally do something about a problem that has plagued me since I was a in primary school. I was obese. Most people would hate to use this word, but in truth that was what I was. I had long ago broken the boundaries of ‘overweight’ and had joined the ranks of millions of obese people of the world. It was at this time that I realized I needed to stop procrastinating and make a commitment to this long-time goal.

The last you heard, I was ecstatic at the results of my latest diet. Let me tell you a little secret. The reason I’m an ardent supporter of diets is because I really hate the gym. I always have and it doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.
I started being a gym bunny in 2002. I had started out gung-ho and made a decision to workout 5 times a week. I was studying at the University of Bristol, UK which was blessed with a top facility gym. Luckily, my best friend at university was a gym freak too and together we used to trek 15 minutes every morning. Let me give you some geography facts about Bristol. It is in the UK, which means we had freak weather conditions. The next is looked outside my window and the strthat it’s hilly so that 15 minutes to and fro made it a workout on its own. I knew I was at the height of my gym craziness when I attempted what nobody would imagine. It had snowed the day before. Traffic was at a standstill and everyone was stranded as the ice on the streets made walking almost impossible. I had woken up at 7am the next morning as usual. Ieet was eerily still. Where I would normally see people rushing to get to work or school was instead replaced with white rooftops and icy roads. I refused to let this stop my gym routine. I bundled myself up in layers on top of my workout gear, gloves and scarf and started walking down the slippery street. After a couple of steps I started thinking that maybe that wasn’t the best idea. Determined to burn off last night’s calories though, I kept walking. When I reached the first downhill slope, I slipped. I landed smack on the ice and because it was so slippery, I couldn’t get up. Somebody came to help me and by holding on to each other, I managed to get back up. Seeing as to how I had barely made it down my street and there was no way I was going to get to the gym, I went back home. Walking back into my warm apartment with my bottom sore and bruised, I saw the gym as my enemy.
