I fell in love at the sight of it. Dare to wear? Be brave and go out wearing it, make a fashion statement! Trust me when I say you’ll be in the limelight. And by the way, remember, have fun at the same time, girls!
Emmagem has always been about the 18 to 24 year olds glampots, but what about the older women and men? This segment is to answer a request from a reader to show the styles for the mid 30′ s and above …
Emmagem will be in search of some fashionable people that come really packed in loads of style and glam, after all they have the advantage of age and yes, vintage is very in at the moment and yes, women especially are like wine, we are smoother and better in quality as we age. There has been a definite revival of vintage in respect of women in their prime from mid thirties to mid forties , who are really living it up and enjoying and loving themselves very much. Look at the recent revival of models like (Vogue did a photoshoot of them togetheras sort of a 20 year anniversary of sorts) Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, these were supermodels in the 1980’s who wouldn’t rise from their beds for anything less than USD10k a day. Then look again at the top Asian faces like Maggie Cheung , Carina Lau and Michelle Reis, late thirties early forties , but they still got that IT factor.
KL in the Prime is about youthfulness and certain depth of maturity that can only come with age and having lived through the ages and all the experiences that came along with it. They embraced the spiciness of life with exuberance and a live and let live attitude. So, some of them may be your mother’s or father’s age, but never underestimate that they can probably give you a good run for your money because style is not defined by age … and let them be inspirations to the young…
Hey , I don’t know about you , but I wanna be as fit and wealthy, sorry I mean healthy as Madonna when I turn fifty , so make it sooner rather later yeah!!

Our first KL in the Prime feature is Mohnee, visual merchandiser and business owner…age 43, mother of two young boys . She is in the creative business therefore her work outfit shows that part of her. Functional yet fashionable…
She has on Dorothy Perkins jeans and beaded bodice satin camisole. Her watch is Ball and Ross. Her platform wedges, really love those, are from Charles and Keith. Picture shot at Italiannies , The Gardens at Midvalley.
Do you know anyone who is also inspirational to you and would like to share with us??
We spotted Mei Ng, the owner from Stitch Project. We chatted for a bit, and guess what?
Everything she wore, was purchases from online boutiques! How cool is that?! Her giraffe necklace is from Soak Republic. Playsuit is from Oh! Popsicles. The black belt is from Cat Whiskers. Her Croc sling bag is from her very own online boutique, Stitch Project. Last but not least, her awesome gladiators, from Velvet Ribbons. She was a walking advertisment for online sales. Lolz!
This time, necklace isn’t just a necklace anymore. What am I babbling about? Well, those days, we wore necklace to glam up our outfit, those pretty blings and diamonds.
But NOW. We go crazy over these funky quirky necklace! Now it isn’t just another accessory. It’s YOUR personality.
These funky necklace are been sold everywhere! You’ll be spoilt for all the choices given.

Now do you see what I mean?

Nanette Lepore Lingerie Lace Top from Saks Fifth Avenue
While shopping over the weekend, a friend of mine tried on this lace-ey dress at Nichii and omg, I fell in love with it. It was a halter neck kinda neckline with a body hugging silhouette and it stops right above the knee. At one look, it looks really AWESOME. but owh boy look closer and you can see the bras and panty lines(doesn’t help when it was in bright colours). lols. I guess with proper underwear, the dress would look perfect. It was only RM69.90 and such a steal for that awesome look. Too bad she did not buy it.
I’ve always liked laces on clothes. Not overly tacky ones like what your grandmother wears, but a reasonable amount could make an outfit look uber feminine and yet still sophisticated, stylish and sexy
Seems like come this fall (ok so fall is here already), the lace trend is here (according to Elle and many other gazillion fashion media). Doesn’t have to be only clothes, but lace accessories and shoes too make the cut as a trend this fall

this lace+pearls headband by Jennifer Behr is so pretty!
Did not see any lace lacey stuff yet here at the online world of uber many clothes. Let’s hope to see them bring in lacey stuff
More images below the cut!:) (more…)
Got this in my email. Just wanted to share with everyone!
Charles & Keith’s newest collection are at the Pavillion store! Click for a bigger image

Kate by Intoxikate is a new store opened at CapSquare at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It is a sister shop by Intoxikate in Bangsar. Well more like a baby sister shop.
Unlike Intoxikate, Kate is a hip boho chick who just loves cool vintage finds and flea market treasures. They also carry cool chunky accessories and vintage goodies at their shop. Gotta visit Kate by Intoxikate soon!:)
I myself has never been to Capsquare. . .So, yes, I’ve never been to Kate by Intoxikate, but i do always visit Intoxikate, Bangsar which has shifted places in BSC during the renovation.
Anyone been to Capsquare? How is the mall like?
Last weekend, at Chics Closet Bazaar held at BSC, we did some style scouting and my, my, KL people are definitely looking good on the streets! See for yourselves!
Here’s Millie, she the owner of Millie Devotee
Tee - her very own clothing label, DEVOTEE
Skirt - Sungei Wang
Heels - Hartamas Shopping Centre
Bangle - Singapore (Arab Street)
Bag - Bangkok
Yes you read it right. Dress to shop that is. With all these bazaars and sales going on, who’s staying home? Not me! Who wants to look all pretty while doing their thing? Definitely me!! So you planned your destination, be it shopping malls or fashion boutiques, either way, you need to run to a few (at least lah!) shops to get the bargain goods you need/want. (Oh, btw, when it comes to shopping, needs and wants are the same, don’t cha think so? lolz!)
Instead of ruining your shopping day, the main key to have a great one is to DRESS COMFORTABLY! leave those 4inches heels to kill at events or a great girl’s night out. See some usefulness instead of pure fashion of wearing gladiators now?
Okay, well the whole point is, wear something comfortable. Something that is easy to take off and put it on again. Guess what? Slip ons dress are the best for this shopping occassion! Yet of course, you’d still wanna look awesomely good in it. See how comfy yet so much in style you can be?

taken from NYC streets
Due to our hot and warm weather here in Malaysia, dressing in body hugging tops or the jeans-that-clings-to-your-legs just may end your shopping trip early (Read : missing out on great bargains and then regret about it). Sometimes, the dressing rooms are filled with the long queues that it just turns you off, yet, you don’t wanna let go of the to-die-for bargain items. What do you do? That’s where slip on dress comes to the rescue! Stand in front of a mirror, if you can’t find one, get a friend for help. Just try on the shorts or slip over the top you have chosen there and then! But please be careful, you don’t want to be thrown out by the security for indecent exposure. (more…)

Over the weekend, there were so many bazaars around. We couldn’t cover all, but we did go to Chics Closet at WIP Bangsar Shopping Centre. Chics Closet was awesome. It was from 11am till 6pm. The day started out slow. . . but eventually later in the day, everyone came in slowly, but surely.
(Read more for more pictures of traders/the event itself!)

(It’s a secret secret thing where you get a mystery gift if you sign up at Chic’s Closet :D)
COME AND TAKE A PHOTO AT THE EMMAGEM PHOTO BOOTH (our stall lah). YOU WILL THEN SOON BE FEATURED AT EMMAGEM’S NEWEST HUSH HUSH PROJECT (will be revealed soon). SO DRESS WELL
We’ll also be selling our old vintage (lol) stuff tomorrow to give us more money to shop tomorrow.
So come come and layan us and everyone else there like Curvy Chics, Cat in a Bowl, Memento Shoes, Royal Shopping Arcade, Poppy Garden,i.heart.axxe, Miut Miut, etc etc.

So come yea?
I’m sure many of us have the same thought when it comes to shoes — We can’t get enough of them!! Be it a pair of comfy ballerina flats or killer stilettos, we love them all!! But alas, for us to own all the shoes that we desire would cost us a hand and leg.. Or much more if you are as in love with shoes as I am..
When I came across shoe jewelery I was so excited!! At last there’s a way to further expand my little shoe collection!
Shoe jewelry consists of clips made of leather, textile, and even rhinestones that we can clip on to our shoes spice them out.
All you need to do is find a clip that you adore and just attach it to your shoe. These pieces could be attached to any part of the shoe (within logical means of course…)
With them, no matter how small your shoe collection is, it’ll seem like u have double or even triple the amount!!! Just look at these examples!!
Only one drawback….
These super-handy shoe jewelery isn’t exactly available in Malaysia…
They could be bought from these websites (based in the US or UK)
Any innovative crafter wanna take up this challenge???
