How to Find Your Perfect Arch
By: yetmee
Since we are on a roll on misquoting Khalil Gilbran, “the eyes are the windows to the soul…”, then trust me you wanna do some guerilla tactics with your brows. By that, I mean you actually change someone’s perception of you with the right shape of brows. The brows tells a lot about a person’s personality. They suggest the moods and tells the most of one’s facial expressions. Brows as used most in theatrics and cartoon conveys moods and feelings best. It also creates the illusion of character. So with the right or wrong brow- you can be intelligent or dumb, strong or evil, glamorous or naive all at once. The higher and thinner the brow arch from the eye the more extremities in character is expressed, think Cruella de Ville. Best is a medium thickness and arch distance.
The first step to ensure you find your perfect arch is precision. The right arch gives your face the right symmetry. A picture perfect face starts with the right symmetry, think Aishwarya Rai…
According to shu uemura eye brow atelier philosophy: there are three elements to the perfect brow; shape , strength and color. How to choose your right shape: use length and form.
Shape
Long and square brow shapes shows a masculine side; long and round-elegant, glamorous; short and square fresh and youthful; short and round-feminine, cute.
Strength
Strong and thin- dolly and stylish;string and thick-confident and wild; soft and thin-innocent , immature,; soft and thick-mysterious and eccentric
Color
Darker or lighter color than hair color-for day go lighter and for darker eye make up- go lighter.
How to find your perfect arch
Step 1
Take the brow pencil and put it at the corner where the beginning of the brow meets the inner corner of the eye should be the starting point of the eyebrow.
Step 2
Look straight ahead and place pencil at the center of the eyeball. That is where the highest point of arch should be.
Step 3
To determine the length of the brow, put the pencil at the outermost corner of eye. That is where the eyebrow should end. Fill up the eyebrow with soft strokes down the length of brow after trimming according to the desired shape . Choose anything from high feminine arch or masculine brow which is thicker at the front and longer at the end. Ensure that the height at end of the brow is not lower than the beginning of the brow.
To determine which shape of eyebrow best suits you, it is really a personal choice. Always choose one that reflects your personality rather than a face shape. A little arch gives you and edge anyway. If your work requires you to be ,more serious maybe a masculien brow and to soften a tough face maybe a high feminine arch to counter just to gift a soft touch.
