Steer away from Black Leggings and say bye-bye to… Dengue.
By: aphrodite
Black leggings might be in every other woman’s closet right now and they also happen to be very in style and a must-have item too. But…did you that you’d then run the risk of attracting dengue-transmitting mosquitoes? Yes!! “It’s worrying how people dress nowadays, especially the youth,” Deputy Health Minister Pansiri Kulanartsiri warned of a dengue outbreak and reminded that mosquitoes are attracted to dark clothing.
According to Telegraph UK, “Of this year’s fatalities, 26 were between the ages of 10 and 24, prompting the Public Health Ministry to warn about the hazards of the must-have fashion item worn by girls and young women.”
“I suggest people avoid wearing black leggings – or any dark colored clothing – so as not to attract mosquitoes,” Pansiri said, calling the leggings a “Korean fashion phenomenon.”

“Wear thick clothing like jeans, particularly during this period,” Pansiri said, noting mosquitoes can bite through thin clothing.
Truth is, I can’t imagine my life with a pair of black leggings! They go with almost everything in my cupboard and I just can’t do without them! “This is an epidemic year for dengue fever,” Anuttarasakdi said. “But what is more worrying is that people are aloof when it comes to prevention.” Prevention in his way is to…stop wearing them black leggings.
Dengue or no dengue, sorry but I will not, never, ever pass up my staple black leggings. Would you?

You can wear the leggings, and apply mosquito repellent underneath before slipping them on. How about that?
