Some very lovely Yorkshire Pearl jewellery!
By: aphrodite
From coloured cuffs to charm bracelets right down to chunky bangles-we adore them all! Invest in these precious pieces and you’ll get to flaunt them fabulous arm candy. Unfortunately for me, my delicate wrists have never been able to accommodate chunky bangles-no matter how much I love them…so much so, I have purchased tonnes of chunky bangles only to leave them on my dresser top. A waste of money you might say? Not exactly. They are eye candy for me, sitting prettily, staring up right at me…in my very own personal space. And that alone makes me happy, even though I dont show them on display on my wrists. If you are in the same predicament as I am, slim bangles are the way to go. They’ll complement you tiny wrists! Feel free to experiment with a variety of bangles and you’ll be surprised to what might look good on you. Wearing chunky bangles? Stack them up or wear it as a statement piece-just remember to pick the right bangle for your body type.
And speaking of bangles, we’ve got some very special bangles which are sure to knock your socks off- Yorkshire Pearl that is. The man behind these gorgeous bespoke jewellery is Robert Clayton, affectionately known as Bert to those around him. We’re talking drool-worthy wrists adornments-which made my jaw drop in jaw, the minute I laid eyes on them. Who knew fur-stuffed cow bells, entire wings of taxidermy birds and lions head door knockers could be this wearable??!
Bert and The Clothes Whisperer
Oh well, no wonder they say “you’ve to see it to believe it!” Nothing screams “LOOK AT ME” more than these personalized, handcrafted jewellery! Each piece from Yorkshire Pearl is a one-off-which means NO ONE ELSE will be wearing the same piece as you. And really that’s the best thing a girl could ever get! Each one-of-a-kind piece is lined with either python or recycled vintage fur. Psst…vintage Hermes scarves have been cut up to be used in his awesome creations.
Bert had completed an MA at London College of Fashion and was even headhunted to work Alexander McQueen and YSL in their Parisian ateliers-but no…he didn’t want o design for anyone else but himself. His exquiste pieces have even caught the eye of Telegraph Editrix, Hilary Alexander and Liberty Creative Director, Jasmine Sewell and will be featured on band FAITHLESS’ upcoming album cover. His “up-and-coming cult bangle line, Yorkshire Pearl, has officially arrived, booking his first show at the next London Fashion Week with Vauxhall Fashion Scout” and for his bangle inspiration, “I’ll stumble across one piece, a doorknocker or something, and the rest of the bangle will evolve around that.”-as mentioned in 50.drmartens.com
We think these Yorkshire Pearl pièce de résistance are “absolutely to die for must-have jewellery”! The most perfect way ever to brighten up any look and any drab outfit-irresistibly irresistible, we say! Must check out yorkshirepearl!

to be perfectly honest, when i first saw the pictures, I felt they were quite ugly and nonsensical , they look like something someone put together from the waste dump in a desperate attempt to have some jewelry… especially the thread strung ones…but on further study I can’t help but marvel at the audacity and ingenue of the creator in the name of art and creativity to try to get away with this range …true to the Yorkshire legacy like the Yorkshire pudding, nothing is left to waste.
