Skinny Cargo Pant

Ladies, there’s a new kind of favourite pants in town… say hi to skinny cargo pants. Military-inspired clothing’s back to take charge – after having been all over Spring/Summer runways,  there’s ONE particular hot militarian piece that has been creating a buzz with celebrities and the online world too. Exactly what am I talking about? I’m referring to the J. Brand Houlihan Cargo Pant – so very special that the stores can’t keep up the demanding orders and get this: a whopping 75,000 pairs have been sold since the end of January with 40,000 pairs on backorder! Major OH-M-G is all I’ve got to say!

Gwen Stefani is the first celeb spotted in these cargoes!

“In 33 years I’ve never shipped anything like this,” Jeff Rudes, the founder and chief executive of J Brand, said, noting that some customers have offered to prepay for the $230 style. The “must have” military pant of the season was actually named after Hot Lips Houlihan of the movie and television series “M*A*S*H. Made of a Japanese cotton twill which contains two percent Lycra, these cargoes are cut skinny, ending with zippers together with smooth cargo pockets and an amazing  vintage wash! Bid good riddance to your baggy and slouchy cargo pants and welcome these super-fab skinnies. As Mr. Rudes puts it, “It’s all about the fit.” As mentioned by the NY Times: “Although their skinny line appears unforgiving, they are very flattering. They work as well with sandals and sneakers as stilettos.” What more could you ask for, right?!

Of course there’s no denying that these babies bare a similar resemblance to Balmain’s$2,000 cargo pants; the only difference to it is the top-stitching on the thighs which makes it even more worn in. Mr. Rudes defended himself by telling the daily: his pants were in the pipeline before Balmain showed the style in Paris last October. “Let’s face it,” he added. “We’re not Balmain.”

The J. Brand Houlihan Cargo Pant might not be designer Balmain, but it sure is making super-flattering waves!
