Time For An Attitude Makeover

Have you ever found yourself saying yes to something, but you don’t actually mean it? And later you’re miserable wondering why on earth you agreed to say yes in the first place? Do people seem to take advantage of you? Why do other people seem to go places and do different things while you’re stuck doing the same old thing?

If you’re feeling all of this, then it’s high time you had an attitude makeover my friend! I too, am sad to say that many times I found myself doing things that I didn’t want to or didn’t like that were pushed to me because I felt bad or guilty about saying no. I often look at those who seem to have a take-control attitude and know how to get exactly what they want and wonder how on earth they did it.

It was high time for a change, and if you look closely at the people who strut around with confidence, take charge of situations and people who know exactly how to get what they want out of life, they’re not doing anything special. It’s actually all about their attitude! They’re regular people too, but the reason they seem to get more out of life than you do is because they throw caution to the wind and go after what they want. And that is what you need to do.

Start adopting these positive attitude tips if you want to see some changes in your life:

scream3If you don’t mean it, don’t say it! – Don’t let people push you around and guilt you into saying yes to something you don’t want to do. All you’re going to accomplish is regret if you say yes grudgingly. What’s the point of beating yourself up about it later wishing you hadn’t said yes?  There’s nothing wrong with firmly saying no once in a while. If you honestly don’t want to or can’t do something, firmly and politely decline. You’ll feel much happier in the long run.

Practice self-confidence – In order to be confident, you need to learn to love yourself. Confident people get things done and take control to get what they want. Confident people also tell themselves they’re great and never let people tell them otherwise. Have you ever seen confident people moan, groan and feel sorry for themselves? Of course not! So kick that attitude and start practicing some confidence! If they can do it so can you!

Don’t be a wallflower – If you find yourself feeling lonely with no one you feel you can talk to, wondering why you don’t have as many friends as you like, it’s time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and take some initiative to meet new people. Look at the popular girl who seems to have a ton of friends. She’s friendly, confident, and does not shy away from meeting new people. If the opportunity arises for you to meet new people, put a smile on your face and greet them with open friendliness. Do this often enough you’re bound to make a few new contacts and a few new friends.

positivePositivity is the key – You’d be amazed at how much negativity can actually affect you. You may not realize it, but being negative or having a negative attitude can actually hold you back and stop you from living your life to the fullest. Switch that around and start forcing yourself to be positive and cheerful each day until it becomes a habit. Go-getters always look on the bright side and don’t let negativity affect them, and you can too! It’s all mind over matter.

Don’t wallow in self pity wishing you could improve your life, if you want something, go for it! It’s is all about your attitude!
