Big Bow Headbands!
By: aphrodite
Yes, we all know that Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf is the Queen of Headbands. A definite hard-to-miss, Queen B always sports a different headband with her ensembles. I know many girlfriends who happen to be headband fanatics-they just can’t get enough of those cutesy accessories. I on the other hand, think that headbands are too cute for me. And plus a headache usually comes along whenever I ‘try’ to wear one. I have bought MANY pretty and expensive ones though. When I get home, I’d try them on in front of my mirror and then… leave them lying in the drawer forever.
The hottest hair accessories at the moment are oversized bow headbands! Here’s a playful approach and a chance for you to get super-creative with your outfits. Oh, sure they’d make a practical tool to keep your hair from getting in the way. But the best part about these bold and outrageous bow headbands is: you get to make a strong fashion statement. If you are one of those who love to be the center of attention, these babies would be a must-have essential! Big bows have been around for a while; they were big in the 80′s. In her Material Girl video, Madonna sported a big bow headband worn to the side.

Wondering if it’d ever be possible to wear a big bow headband? Sure, but only if you keep the rest of your look toned down. Your bow can be as large or small as you’d like it to be and it doesn’t matter if you have short or long hair! Yup, anyone can embrace this trend.

There’s no need to break the bank too:
Get yourself a piece of fabric (satin or leather would work great). Do go for bight, bold colours for a summer-inspired look. Simply wrap it around your head and tie into a bow on the side or in the middle. And there you have your very own big bow headband!
Tip: Avoid appearing like you’re on your way to a costume party by ensuring that you go for good quality and luxurious-looking fabric. Tacky ones will just ruin you look.
