Blogger Rules!

It’s the attack of the fashion bloggers! They dominate the fashion world not only with their opinion and point of view but also their style and passion for fashion. They have been in the front row with Anna Wintour at the hottest runway tickets of the Fashion Week, modeling clothes in the magazines as well as designing and endorsing products, among other things.

Welcome to new world of fashion… where bloggers rule!

1. Pelayo Diaz (www.katelovesme.net)

Pelayo Diaz has been the front runner in the world of men’s fashion blogging. His blog has been receiving more than one million visitors since he started blogging few years back. His blog is all about his love for fashion and his (Diaz is a fashion student in London) experiments with different styles and latest designs. His signature hair which some magazines describe as his ‘crown’ is really of-the-moment and perfect for a self-declared ‘prince’ likes him. Some might call it a little bit of self-indulgence, but never forget the fact that Pelayo Diaz also designs and has had his safety pin dress worn by Rihanna in one of her latest video clips as well as appearing in magazines like GQ, i-D and Nylon.

2. Carolina Engman (www.fashionsquad.com)

This gorgeous girl from Sweden has been featured in countless fashion magazines including TeenVogue, Nylon and Elle. She first got noticed for her personal styles that a lot of people compare to the Olsen sisters and not to mention the beautiful photograph of her prancing around in stylish outfits courtesy of her boyfriend. Engman’s ability to mix vintage pieces with designers of the runway stuff has secured her status as fashionista of the blogsphere.

3. Bryan Boy (www.bryanboy.com)
Duh! As if ‘WE’ haven’t heard of him! His venture and success in the world of fashion still sometimes get people wondering; how a gay kid from Philippine could create such a huge buzz in the fashion world that Marc Jacobs decided to name a handbag after him and all the who’s who in the fashion world are writing his name in caps on A4 papers? It’s been a wild ride for BB ever since. He has been all over Fashion Weeks all over the globe and recently got a feature (among other fashion bloggers) in Vogue.

blog1-3

4. Catherine Kallon (www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com)

She was the first to spot that Angelina Jolie’s Max Azria dress at the SAG Awards was worn backward and blogged about it. Catherine Kallon’s Red Carpet Fashion Awards follows the celebrity red carpet trends. The best thing about the blog is it is updated few times daily and whichever events that you saw on TV, you can bet that Kallon will break down the fashion for you. Kallon has really given herself for this blog which even cost her the previous relationship that she had with a banker who ‘didn’t really take her career seriously’. It all paid off with a feature on last month’s Vogue magazine (along with Hanneli and Bryanboy.

blog1-2

5. Hanneli Mustaparta (www.hanneli.com)

Hanneli was a VJ for MTV Norways as well as a model for the past eight years. But lately she has been doing a lot of styling jobs around in the industry as well as taking professional photos for her blog and some editorial features. People took notice and recognize her as the one who look good in front as well as behind the lens of the camera. Trailing the path of The Sartorialist and Jak&Jil, www.hanneli.com captures the street style of New York and Norway where she lives.

So tell us now. Are bloggers really the new fashion editors/ models/ designers/ celebrity?
