My latest fave brilliant legal movie, The Good Wife, played by Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth aka Mr Big , is about the story of a wife of a US State Attorney who had to face public humiliation because her husband was prosecuted for  involvement in prostitution but found herself by going back to practice law at a law firm doing mostly pro bono work. So, sex scandals, illicit sex , the good wife and the successful married man even the preachy ones are no strangers to each other. But strange , these days girls who in the first place did the wrong thing are now also the ones blowing  the whistle and in some cases, cashing out of the affairs.

You know the old saying behind every man there is a woman and beside every straying man there is also a woman. After the disillusionment of the golden or rather the “good boy” of golf Tiger Woods, we now have Jack Neo, acclaimed director and producer of  several movie hits in Singapore like “Money No Enough!” being caught as an unfaithful husband. In this case, it was double the betrayal because this is a man, many in prim and proper Singapore look up to as THE voice who dare to say the unspoken against the government through subtle hints and not so subtle ones in his movie. The man that the People’s Action Party is looking at to help garner more votes and be the representative voice of the people.

It would seem like Jack Neo, is more sinister, most men according to some men; men who are successful will find temptations in their paths and many have been known to fall prey and maybe some do make the most of it.  But I guess in this case , it is blatant premeditated  sexual harassment  (yeah, he even modified his car seat apparently) since he uses his position to persuade , threaten and cajole for sexual favors in lieu of a career in the movies and he has no qualms that some of them are only slightly older than his daughters. So, on one hand while he maintains the good husband good citizen facade, he holds a dark side which makes him pretty much no more than a DOM (dirty old man) ,” aiyaa so uncle leh”…and so predatory one at that. At least Tiger Woods,  only promised free love. And he paid for the services whilst Jack Neo just took . This sure sounds like a true profile of a sex offender who always maintain a very obvious and clean profile to avoid suspicion.

Then of course the  ultimate betrayal, the apology that was not quite, at the press conference which was dramatic in true Jack Neo style and the sad speculation may be that he may have manipulated his wife to appear and appeal  for his sake; one more time betraying the good wife and in this case, behind every good woman is just another …..
