In this day and age, we’re taking matters into our own hands with do-it-yourself (D.I.Y.) furniture to save delivery costs and D.I.Y. hair dye to save time. The L’occitane Ma Creme Nature Organic Do-It-Yourself Moisturising Cream may not directly save you money or time but it will save you from the harshness of harmful chemicals. Preservatives in skin care products are almost unavoidable because they are needed to prolong the shelf life of the products. Parabens, which have been found to be carcinogenic, and fragrances are commonly used preservatives that consumers are trying to avoid. Addressing this concern, L’occitane has developed a holistic approach to skin care by creating a chemical-free and preservative-free moisturising cream using organically certified ingredients, that you can concoct at home.

Emmagem was recently invited to view this new addition to L’Occitane at Ciao Restaurant. We tried our hands at some D.I.Y. activities by picking out the ingredients to make our own fruit juices and Tapanade. Having adjourned to the presentation of Ma Creme, we were educated on the origins and processing of the organic olives used to produce the organic olive tree extracts primarily used in Ma Creme.
L’occitane is also making efforts to be more environmentally responsible with eco-refills of selected liquid soaps. Ma Creme too has a refill pack that encourages users to reuse and eliminate costs of reusable materials. Yet another benefit of doing-it-yourself!
Our final D.I.Y. activity involved the star of the day as we created a jar of Ma Creme using the provided materials in the kit.

The freshly-made jar of cream can be kept refrigerated up to 6 weeks, used day and night.

L’Occitane Ma Creme will be available for purchase in April 2010 at any L’Occitane Boutiques. It is priced at RM155 for the starter kit and RM118 for the eco-refill pack.
