Wearing the jumpsuit
By: Cherrypop
Whether you prefer calling it the jumpsuit, romper or one-piece, this nifty little item is a handy addition to your closet. If you think it’s difficult to wear, think again. There’s a cut and length to suit just about every body type, plus with the addition (or removal) of accessories, you can make your jumpsuit look either rock goddess-like, minimalist or sweetly country. Here are some runway looks to inspire:
At 3.1 Phillip Lim at sporty looking one piece is made feminine with a shoulder bag and matching buckled booties in a tan shade.
Bottega Veneta made theirs slouchy with a tapered pants leg, and added a long scarf and platform wedges.
Carolina Herrera’s slinky satin strapless version is cinched in with a jeweled sash and is perfect for night. Be courageous and wear something like this to a wedding too!
Charlotte Ronson went sporty and layered a white tee under this nude version and paired it with zipper heels.
Another different style off the Charlotte Ronson runway, an army jacket and a plaid shirt are layered over this jumpsuit for a different take on the military look.
Costume National was flirty with a short, lacy romper paired with cut out boots.
D&G shows off a country look with tasseled boots and tan accessories to go with their romper with eyelets.
This fuchsia number is bound to get anyone’s attention. Slicked back hair and thick strap heels like DKNY has done is the perfect accompaniment.
Here are jumpsuit options for different body types:
More room at the thigh area conceals thicker thighs while thicker shoulder straps will balance out wide shoulders.
If you’re not comfortable about showing off your legs but confident about your shoulders and arms, this cut is great.
Probably the most forgiving cut of them all, this workwear style will conceal arms and hips. Petite figures can roll up the hems to knee length and cinch the waist with a belt to accentuate curves.
Petite. slender figures will look great in this shimmering jumpsuit, as will tall and lanky types.
If wider hips are a problem, this piece has plenty of room to hide them, and has lots of room for legs. The slight drop waist will elongate a shorter upper half.
Bigger busts will be concealed under this romper and petites will also look taller in this.
Athletic figures (broader shouders) will look great in this, and it will conceal tummies if you are concious about that area.
Because of a more fitted leg, this piece will highlight and lengthen those pins. Don’t go near unless you are ultra confident about your limbs.
