Paris Fashion Week Highlights
By: hannef
Paris Fashion Week closed its curtain last week with some very memorable collection for Autumn/Winter 2010. Menswear particularly has seen so many ideas and inspiration that will definitely shape the look for the following season. There are some breathtaking and not to mention some what-the-hell-are-they-thinking moments throughout the one whole week of fashion galore.
So here are the lowdowns of looks spotted on the runways of Paris Fashion Week.

Color-pops
Autumn/Winter collections are mostly consists of very somber and moody lineup of layered, thick and stiff ensemble. Interesting enough for 2010, designers decided to inject some pops of color to numbers of look presented. For instance, the neon green shoes at Comme Des Garcon and blue-leopard print cardigan at Tim Hamilton.

Drop-crotch
Drop-crotch pants are airy alternative to the tiring and restricting skinny jeans which have been the runway staples for way too many seasons. They come in light fabric with sporty and tailored cuts for all occasion.

Kilts
Marc Jacobs is the one who doesn’t seem to miss his pants at all. He has been sporting kilts on so many different occasions including the final bows at his Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton runways. Kilt is definitely not for the fain-hearted as can be seen on Gaultier and Lanvin runway.

High-waisted pants
Aside from the extension in the crotch region, men’s pants have also been reinvented and cut several more inches up to the waist. They might not be for all types of body because they have the tendency of adding gazillion more kilos to our already heavy-framed friends. But they look awesome on Galliano’s models.

Leggings
Blame Riccardo Tisci for the legging-craze among the guys! Now we’re all stuck and the best part, he told us to wear them longer now.

Bold-stripes
It’s about time for stripes to make a comeback. The checkered and tartan have started to get a little bit old. They are all over Dries Van Notten this season.

Slouchy knits
This is a perfect solution for the harsh winter cold. They are perfect for layering and add a little bit of softness and movement to the total look as seen at Louis Vuitton and Dior Homme.
Can’t wait for next season!
