Gold medal style
By: Cherrypop
Designers broke out on the active wear this season with many taking to inspirations from the likes of scuba diving, surfing, the running track and even skateboarding and American football. Perhaps it’s the easy wearability of these sporty seperates and the fact that they are so comfortable that they pretty much go with any style. Want to dress down a sequin jacket? Roll up a pair of slightly slouchy grey track pants and pair with heels. Want to make a frilly skirt look less flouncy? Pair it with a loose grey marle racer back tank. Whichever way you want to wear it, these pieces are definitely meant to be worn out of gym.
Here we have some inspirations from the runway to help you get started:
Black tights with a racing stripe on each side at Alexander Wang were topped with peep toe lace up booties and a sheer overlay and sequins.
At DKNY, an ensemble like this is perfect for the weekend. The grey shorts help anchor the pink and red tank with a blush coloured cardigan.
The combination of different textures of grey was seen at Elie Tahari. A grey tweed jacket smartens up a white tee and tolled up track pants while heels and a chain strap purse add a bit of girlishness.
Scuba-like material on this jacket and bodysuit combination at Gucci would look perfectly paired with loose tailored shorts.
How’s this for some tennis inspiration at Hermes? The socks and strappy heels with the coat make this not so cinfined to the courts but we say go sans the headband if you want to try out this look.
Just like a scuba suit, Jonathan Saunders’s panels on this shift dress are ultra slimming.
Tapered pants in yellow jazz up and black and white tank as Josh Goot demonstrates.
Whoever knew a sporty jacket would look so chic paired with textured bike pants? Only Julien Macdonald did.
How would you wear this look?
