Have you heard? One of the world’s most desirable luxury brand- Chanel will soon launch their new Rouge Coco collection this March! I guess it’s time to say bye-bye to your lip-glosses and welcome back the good ol’ lipstick. The Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour is said to boasts a long-lasting, hydrating formulation-when it comes to lippies, nothing else could be better than a stay-put, super-moisturizing colour!

“Women seem to have forgotten how to apply lipstick,” Peter Phillips, Chanel’s global creative director for makeup, told WWD. “We have a whole generation of lip-gloss girls. Now, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with lip-gloss, but there is something so feminine about the act of applying lipstick. I want to make lipstick as easy to apply as lip gloss, and for a long-lasting formula to feel comfortable on the lips.”

Interestingly, the lipstick is based on a design which dates back to 1952! The creative team tried to create the lipsticks that Coco Chanel herself would have liked. The Rouge Coco range will replace the existing Rouge Hydrabase line. The absolutely to-die-for Rouge Coco collection consists of 30 lustrous shades, in four various colour-families: roses-pink (nine shades), reds-corals (eight shades), violets-berries (four shades) and neturals-brown (nine shades). Get this: each colour is named after an influential period in Coco’s life, with names like Camelia, Mademoiselle, and Paris!

French actress Vanessa Paradis is the stunning face of the campaign and this isn’t just the first time Paradis has worked with Chanel; in 1992 she was the also face of the Coco fragrance campaign. Andrea D’Avack, president of Chanel Fragrance & Beauté, stated: “Vanessa has been very linked to the house over the years, and she represents a young, sophisticated woman who we also believe will be the consumer for Rouge Coco.”

There’s just something about how a slick on colour on your pout can work wonders for your face. As for myself, definitely want to get my hands on a few Rouge Coco lippies! Hmm…I wonder when it will reach our chores though; either way, I’m pretty sure it’ll be worth the wait.
