Yes it’s true; you yourself can apply make-up like a professional! If you want to look your absolute best, it’s extremely important to learn a few simple techniques that can help transform you. Here’s the inside scoop on how to get those to-die for cheek bones you’ve always wanted!

High and sculpted cheek bones have always been considered beautiful. But if you are you one of those unfortunate ones, born without naturally prominent cheekbones, there’s really no need to fret because you can fake your way through!

Contour with darker foundation

To achieve a natural contour to your cheekbone, apply a darker foundation (two shades darker in fact) from the hollow of your cheek bone down to your jaw line. Blend in the darker tinted moisturizer or foundation, followed by your normal foundation colour in other areas. To make your cheek bones really stand out, you can then smooth on a highlighter or Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream also does wonders.

Bronzer on your cheek bones

Pick a bronzer that is one shade darker than your natural skin tone. Suck in your cheeks making a “fish face”. Dust the bronzer onto the pronounced part of your cheek bone, stay away from the hollow area. Do remember to start out with a tiny amount of bronzer first. You can always add on if it’s not enough.

Blend, blend, blend

Always make sure you blend in you blusher very, very well. You really don’t want to look like a walking clown! For your everyday wear blusher, smile to find the apples of your cheeks and apply the colour on the chubby part of your cheeks. Remember to blend upwards, towards the back of your ears. This will help to enhance your cheek bones and make it look more natural.

Want to instantly highlight your cheekbones and make them pop? Simply use a dot of highlighter cream (white shimmer or pale gold works best) on top of your cheekbone (under your blush) or under the outer corner of your eye!
