Best Dressed Men 2010
By: hannef
GQ has come out with their Best Dressed List of 2010. It’s a little bit too early considering we are still only in our second week of the year. But this Best Dressed List is very important in shaping the fashion and trends in menswear for months to come. Past winners of the list includes; David Beckham, Daniel Day Lewis, Prince Charles and Mark Ronson. The best thing about the list is the diversity of styles and influences that can be seen each year. People in the list are not necessarily those in lavish shinny suits and Church shoes. They can also be some hip-hoppers in their high-tops or mod-rockers in skinny jeans. The people on the list are those who have greatly influenced the fashion industry and epitomize style in their own special ways; but never over the top. In our times of individuality acceptance; when a teenage boy carrying a Birkin bag and a bearded Black man wearing a pair of Louboutin heels are considered fashion-forward, it’s good to bring back what gentlemen dressing is all about. Some people are too caught up with being some kind of trendsetter that they have actually lost touch on what style is all about. Style is not all about pairing your leather legging with gold-high-tops or shredding t-shirts and paint splatters, it’s about finding who you are and what work the best for you. These ten stylish men seem to have found theirs: •1. Robert Pattinson Rob Patz has his very distinctive but accessible style. His penchant for flannel shirts, motorcycle jackets and distressed jeans make him number one style icon on the list. •2. Take That
The group has been seen rocking some very elaborate but stylish outfits for their Circus Tour. Those boy band days are far behind them as they have fully grown into a bunch of very fine looking and well-dressed men. •3. Alex Turner
We boys know him as the front-man of Arctic Monkeys but most girls simply refer to him as ‘that guy Alexa Chung is dating’. Both of them together make a really lovely but sickly stylish couple; Chung with her animal print trench and Turner with his skinny suits.
- 4. Fantastic Mr. fox
•5. Tom Ford Compared to Marc Jacobs (post-makeover), Tom Ford has been the one who really exudes style and fashion which seems to be oozing from every pore of his skin. He really makes an effort to always dress to the nines and wear his own designs.
- 6. Daniel Craig
- 7. David Furnish
- 8. David Cameron
- 9. David Beckham
•10. Dizzee Rascal
He is a popular rapper in the UK which not all of us might have heard of. He wears graphic tees and high-tops as well as he wears the white suit. He even got the Diddy comparison for his style. Dizzy and Diddy, geddit? Images from: gq.com
