Beauty 101: Latest Celeb Endorsements!
By: aphrodite
Although multiple brand endorsements by celebrities (yes, just one celeb can be the face of a number of brands!) confuses us all, celebrity endorsements are an extremely effective advertising & marketing tool!
When an icon is spotted in an ad, it is said that they are able to transfer their positive qualities onto the product. Most of the time these endorsements significantly influence the purchasing decisions of fans who want to emulate their favourite stars! Here are two of the latest celeb endorsements in the beauty world!
Julia Roberts, a.k.a. Pretty Woman, is the new 2010 “global ambassadress” for cosmetics company Lancome. “By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time. Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments, perfectly echo Lancome’s values,” Lancome president Youcef Nabi said. “We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible,” he added.
The actress can soon be seen in Eat, Pray, Love, based on the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert, and Valentine’s Day (directed by Garry Marshall, who coincidentally also directed her in Pretty Woman). Don’t miss out on her Lancome ads which are said to run globally early this year.

Next up, German actress Diane Kruger is the latest face of beauty giant L’Oréal. She was best known as ‘the face that launched a thousand ships’ when she stared as Helen in Troy alongside Brad Pitt in 2002.
The 33-year-old actress said, “It’s a great honour and a huge pleasure to become a Spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris. I admire the brand, not only for the quality and innovation of its products, but also because it represents diversity and excellence across the world, values which are very close to my heart. I am, of course, also delighted to be joining the other L’Oréal Paris Spokespeople, an extremely talented, widely-admired group of people.”
Other beautiful celebrities that have been the face for L’Oréal include Penelope Cruz, Eva Longoria Parker, Beyonce Knowles, and Freida Pinto to name a few. Diane Kruger will represent L’Oréal’s haircare, hair colour and make-up, in particular the brand’s latest foundation Mat’Morphose.
