I have just finished testing the Clinique Youth Surge with Sirtuin technology on my skin which is supposed to reduce wrinkles and suspend the aging process. I figured with all the late nights and year end work accumulation some drastic aging process probably will take place beacuse next to sun damage, daily stress is the next culprit, so I figure, some drastic measures are necessary.

What this product does is optimize cellular regeneration and restore youth to aging skin by intensifying the natural nightly cycle of repair. What both New Youth Surge  Night Age Decelerating Night Moisturizer and Youth Surge SPF 15 Decelerating Moisturizer does is help slow down visible signs of aging while simultaneously promote cellular repair.

When I first read the ingredients it reminded me of my last science class, a long  long time ago and I had my moment of panic, I must say. But now that I finally grasp it  like all  things in life, this product’s basic concept seem easy enough to understand and to be appreciated.

What is Sirtuin Technology

The molecule  Isoniacinamide which optimizes  skin’s natural reparative functions   together with the all powerful enzyme Micrococus Lysate which enhances    skin’s natural ability to combat daytime damage which as we know can be a major factor in the aging process. The amino acid  Hydroxyproline which helps boost collagen  production, maintains  the existing collagen and helps corrects the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

For restoration and repair purposes which we know happens at night, which is why the night part is highly important, because as Clinique’s  Guiding Dermatologist,  Dr David Orenteich said ‘… skin is more permeable at night and receptive to  concentrated  treatments.During this natural repair cycle exposure to environmental assaults are minimized and free radical s scavengers are able to “sweep away” the  daytime damage before it can accumulate.”

Therefore Youth Surge Night Decelerating Night Moisturizer features a cocktail of powerful known antioxidants in the market including Japanese Knotweed, Mulberry Root Extract , Vitamin E and Vitamin C which helps to combat daytime damage and  environmental assault.

This product caters for the Very Dry to Dry skin; Dry Combination and Combination to Oily Skin. All are light creme except for the Combination range which is a light weight creme gel and oil free. As with other and all Clinique products they are allergy tested, 100% fragrance free , dermatologist tested and non-acnegenic.

After thirty days of usage, of which I follow the regime of only use at night after cleansing and toning. I do not use it with the recomended Clinique 3  Step as I find that using the  3 Step Combination makes my skin very oily the next day. The day routine is my usual toner and  moisturize with Clinique’s Turnaround Concentrate and Clinique’s Mositure Surge and of course sunblock.

The result is skin is visibly plumper and the fine grooves around my mouth  appears less sunken in after the thirty days.  Results started kicking in only after the 20th day. I do a  daily check on these two spots  right after I wake up and again after I washed my face for the after “8 hour effect” when the skin is supposed to  look rested and refreshed and more youthful in the morning.

I also use it on my neck and I must say the three deep lines that I have running across my neck like  a perennial tell tale of my aging are,  I must say surprisingly also not so prominent as before.

I am using the dry combination version which has  a nice light texture.  It is easy to apply and there is no oily residue feeling.

Skin appears to be more radiant as well….
