raymondWe spoke to Raymond Chew of Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio recently about some styles that he might recommend for this year end festivities which is just around the corner.  By the way, Raymond  has some huge credentials on his back; formerly the Creative Director of A Cut Above and  he is also one of very few Blonde Tinting and Highlight specialist in town.

As he said “..this is the time of the year again where parties and celebrations are never ending…and in fact I will be working on New Year’s Eve  and Christmas Eve because some clients have requested for me to do their hair for that special evening out…” . So we got down  to talking about hairdos and how much work is involved to keep it well coiffed. My hair is pretty long and inevitably everyone I meet , drops a comment like all’s good except the hair is a bit messy, I guess I won’t be going down in history as someone who is well coiffed then alas. Anyway, not one to be adventurous with my crowning glory, I asked Raymond, what he thinks would be some suggestions that he would make for  a quick semi permanent hair do make over for all you readers out there. Below are some great hairstyles that you might want to consider  for this festive period.

Long Hair

If you have always had long straight hair and contemplatinga change? Try getting your hair perm with big curls, be it a Cool Perm or Digital Perm, curls can make a person sexy for any party.   What I have learnt is that Digital Perm which is usually costlier works best on hair that is damaged and comes out really nicely because of the method of perming which was designed to address hair that has been constantly colored and had been permed frequently. Whilst with normal healthy hair, unless you specifically want a digital perm look, a cool perm or a wave perm with big curlers will give similar if not better effect, save on cost and great wavy looking hair. There is just that something about curls that softens ones appearance  I guess… and yes, the word I struggle with SEXY hair…

Mid Length Hair

Mid length hair can be messy and very tricky to handle, too short for  a styling and too long to be neat and yet…such a waste to cut away, so why not try a perm also, so that you are able to control your hair without it looking out of place.

The great thing about hair extensions you don’t have to do much to it as these extensions are made of real hair. It can come permed, coloured or just re-style. You will look different in just a few minutes.

You can also just get your hair blown dry with big curls or for even longer lasting effect, just use  Iron Tongs for a temporary curl effect , works for both ling and mid length hair. You will get back your natural hair after your hair wash.

SHORT HAIR

If you are those people who likes short hair, well just slap some foils on and your hair cut will get some good enhancements that seems to reflect movements. Now all you need to do is to style it with some styling products like wax or clay, you will be ready to party. With shorter hair, one gets to be be more adventurous with colours and highlight so that when the colour catches the light dancing on the hair, hair becomes vibrant.  Bobs for instance frames ones face especially a pixie face and brings out your best features…
