Gifts For Your Men
By: hannef
The holiday season is here again. As exciting as it may sound, we can’t help but feel a little bit nervous when it is finally the time to unwrap those presents from under the tree. So, to avoid those obvious fake smiles and ‘thank-yous’ from your loved ones, here are some pretty useful gift ideas for the important men in your life.
Boyfriend
For your boyfriend, give him something that he can wear all year round. Instead of clothing, try something like bracelet, ring, necklace or even a wrist-watch if he is not really into accessories. David Yurman has some of the most charming accessories for men. They come with some quite hefty price tags of course, but its Christmas after all. So why not right!?
Husband
Gift for your husband should reflect maturity and the elements of togetherness between the two of you. It also needs to be functional at the same time. A weekend getaway ticket or spa voucher for both of you will definitely hit the homerun after his non-stop nine-to-five routine for the whole year. But still if the whole idea of vacation and spa are just a little bit too overwhelming for him (or even for you), why not try to make his nine-to-five more bearable with a new briefcase or shoes from huge selections at Coach and Tod’s.
Brother
If you have a brother, this is the perfect time to teach him a thing or two about proper and grown up dressing. Surprise him with a GQ or Esquire magazine subscription or take him on a shopping spree at Banana Republic for clothes that will definitely be the envy of his classmates in college. A suit for that first ever job interview that he couldn’t stop talking about will be great too.
Kid Brother
There’s nothing else that can push your little brother to flash his braces-clad teeth other than I-Pod. But if he already got one from last year, why not get him some accessories like speaker-deck, cool casing or a new headphone to go along with it.
Father
Oh father! One word: BOOKS. Get him two or three or even ten if you may. Make sure you stick to his area of interest, which can be politic, sports, history or just whatever it is that he couldn’t stop raving about. But if reading is not really his thing, get him a coffee table book instead.
Grandfather
Get the Old Man something age appropriate like money-clip, coffee-maker or cigar cutter; you know the kind of things that he likes. But if you’re still in doubt, just ask your grandmother.
