Beauty 101: Hair Goo Counsel
By: aphroditeLet’s face it, not all of us are born with a lustrous mane on our heads! Thank god for hair helpers which make our hair do some amazing things that it usually doesn’t want to do. With all those haircare products out there, here are what some of them are and what it can do for you..
Texturizers
AKA: mousse, gel, styling crème.
Mission: It gives you boho style in a bottle. Texturisers help you achieve that winter-weekend look that you absolutely love!
Do: Squeeze out a dollop on clean hair (either damp or dry), massage into scalp and ruffle through the lengths with your fingertips.
Don’t: Forget to practice. You can end up looking like you just got out of bed if you don’t carefully control loose curls.
Try: L’oreal Studio Line Unkempt, Out of Bed Weightless Hair Texturizer

Boho Braid
Volumisers
AKA: Body boosters, hair thickeners, liquid hair.
Mission: If you want to fatten up fine hair, this is one product you have to get! It will give you a thick finish.
Do: Work a small amount from the roots to the tips of fine or limp hair before drying and styling. There are however some volumisers that can work on dry hair.
Don’t: Avoid this product is your hair is thick/ frizzy or if you want a sleek look.
Try: Joico PROFESSIONAL Volumizing Hair Gel

Cheryl Cole’s big, teased hair
Smoothers
AKA: Gloss, serum, frizz busters
Mission: This magic goop will make your frizzy mane more manageable and it can also help make long locks sleek.
Do: Go ahead and rub a droplet between your hands and, keeping hands flat, smooth onto finished do, concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends.
Don’t: Use too much. Always start with a tiny bit and add more only if needed, otherwise your hair could end up greasy.
Try: L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art Liss Control

Scarlett Johansson
Sculpters
AKA: Moulders, shapers.
Mission: To coax hair into super-sleek, often gravity-defying dos.
Do: Comb a small amount through damp or dry hair before styling.
Don’t: Use too much or you’ll lose the movement in your hair. Save hair sculpters for special hair occasions- they’re way too dramatic for every day!
Try: Joico JoiLotion Sculpting Lotion

Talk about gravity-defying!
Pomades
AKA: wax
Mission: To banish fly-aways and “clump” hair for that choppy, chunky look.
Do: Scrape one palm over wax and rub hands together; smooth onto wet or dry hair and twist pieces of hair between fingers for definition.
Don’t: Go overboard, particularly on wet hair (because moistness disguises wax, so you could end up applying way too much). Wax works best on short, spiky styles, but it can also be used a super-strong smoother for sleek styles.
Try: L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art Gloss Wax
