Sze-lightful Jewellery
By: CherrypopIn case you’re not familiar with local jewellery designer Tan Sze Yoong, her designs itself should be enough to make you sit up and take notice. She runs the online jewellery shop Sze Accessories selling her own designs ranging from necklaces, earrings, and headbands to brooches and rings. While her creations are available at the Cuppacakes by + Wondermilk cafe in Uptown, one can easily purchase her unique accessories at just a click at szeaccessories.com.
This season, the 80s trend is affluent in clothing, shoes and accessories and Sze Yoong doesn’t fail to be ahead. Her latest creations hold a bold note and definitely not in a garish way. Tasteful but not too simplistic (it is the awesome, OTT 80s after all!), every piece is certainly wearable and thrusts the fashionable girl right into the spotlight of any party.

Tze Yoong has made such an impact that she has been nominated to be one of ten of Martell’s Rising Personalities this year.
Here, we’ve selected three pieces out of her vast collection and paired them with outfits we think will be the life of any party.
Look 1 :The seductive diva

A strapless dress highlights the collarbone and draws attention to the face while the print and distressed finishing at the hem add much interest.

These earrings from the Tailor Made range consist of buttons from Spain and Paris. A patterned, textured dress like the one above needs minimal finish and these bold earrings do just the trick as the black and gold complement the black and neutral brown hues of the dress but isn’t big enough to overshadow the print.

A simple pale gold clutch finishes off the look.

Heels in this shade highlight the leg and make them look miles longer (and who’s to notice the platform?).
Look 2: The classy babe

A black jumpsuit is instantly chic and easy to wear. Highlighting the shoulders, the silhouette is extremely forgiving.

This necklace is a definite conversation starter and part of Sze Yoong’s showcase and fashion show to be presented on the night of the Martell Rising Personalities gala dinner. This sits perfectly against the one shoulder neckline and there is no need for earrings with a piece this special.

Your hands might feel a little bare, so a glamorous cocktail ring will add to the mood.

A pretty flower clutch in a disco silver picks instantly brightens up an all-black ensemble.

Velvety heels bring even more drama to the look.
Look 3: The sweetheart

Rhinestones give some dramatic flair to an otherwise safe, pastel frock and makes it that much more special.

Made of feathers, glass beads and diamantes, this is a pretty headband, also from Sze Yoong’s upcoming showcase. The colour will pop in contrast to the pale pink of the dress and shines to complement the embellished details of the dress.

Finish with a mock croc envelope clutch in a dark hue so it doesn’t compete with the headband.

Pale pink pumps are a neutral touch to the sweet party outfit.
