Prep your face, have your makeup kit ready, pick up your brushes and get ready for a crash course in beauty. You will get to save time and yet look effortlessly beautiful for any occasion with these easy to follow steps!

Shimmer and shine like a star

Use this sparkly stuff to catch the light and highlight different areas on your face. There are lots of textures to choose from loose or pressed powders, sticks and creams.

A dab of shimmer cream in the inner corner of each eye will make them appear wider apart, perfect for those with close set eyes. Use your fingertips to smudge on white, gold or pink shimmer.

Using loose dust on a brush by rubbing cream shimmer onto your browbone (underneath the outer end of your eyebrows) will make your eyes look larger and more expressive.

Swiping a shimmer stick on the top of your cheekbones will attract the light and create the illusion of high cheekbones. Try silver shimmer on fair complexions and gold on medium to olive skins. Bronze works great for darker skintones.

Cheeky Cheek Stains

Cheek stains and tints look absolutely natural, are waterproof and is your best bet to use for our sweltering weather. Cream blushers give off a shiny glow and are super easy to blend in. No need for brushes here, you can simply use your fingers to apply all three.

Squirt a tint onto the back of your hand and have your fingertips ready for quick application. You will need to work fast so the tint doesn’t end up staining the wrong spot.

Use tints or cream blush onto the apples of your cheeks if you want to create a natural blush. Remember; smile to find the apples of your cheeks.

Applying cream blush underneath your cheekbones will highlight them and give them a more angular appearance. Smooth diagonally across towards your ear. Using blush on the top on your cheekbones will make them appear higher and draw attention to your peepers.

Eyeliner Magic

Use a thin or chubby pencil to draw attention to your eyes. Don’t just line them all the way around or your eyes will look small and round rather than sexy. Roll the pencil in between your palms to soften it up for easier application.

Hold the pencil just like you would a normal pencil and draw a line from the centre outwards. The trick is to colour the gaps between your lashes so they look thicker, and then thicken the line up at the outer corner of your eyes.

Look downwards when working on the upper lashline. Using your free hand to hold your brow up makes it easier to draw an even, straight line.

Look upwards when lining the lower lashes- start at the outer corner and work inwards on your lashline. Using a white eye pencil in the inner rim of your eye will make them look larger.

Perfect eyebrows

Defined eyebrows frame your eyes and influence your facial expressions. Always try to keep the natural shape of your brows. You can do this by just tweezing or shaving away the excess hair.

Place an eye pencil alongside your nostril and visualise- your brow should start at the inner side of the pencil. Diagonally place the pencil so it skims the outer corner of your eye-where it hits your eyebrows should end. The highest point of your arch should sit above the outer edge of your iris when looking straight ahead.

Once you have worked out how your brows should look, use a white eye pencil to shade in hairs that need to be removed. Only tweeze underneath brows to keep their natural shape.

Remove hairs one by one with slant-edged tweezers. Please do remember to step back regularly and check out your brows to ensure they stay in shape.

  1. Love eyeliner – draw attention to peepers, especially colours other than the conventional black!
