This project entitled RA +d’s Tshirt project was launched on National Day to support national pride and unity as well as its diversity and multicultural heritage. Held at Delicious Cafe at Marc Residence, attendees were welcomed by the sounds of Gamelan music in the background which included celebrities like Chelsea Ng, Henry Golding, Elaine Daly (who was also emcee-ing), Jo Kukathas, Amber Chia to a name a few. Also seen were owners/partners of Just Heavenly , Nigel Skelchy and Alan Yap. Then we were serenaded by the powerful tomes of Adibah Noor, who was preceeded by a Chinese opera act and an Indian dance performance of course. I saw kids in gymnastics costume who probably performed as well but I unfortunately had to leave early.
RandomAlphabets.com, as we know is a collective of individuals who seek to bring people together and provide a platform for freedom of expression in the creative KL scene. Headed and started by Zain HD, I first heard about them when they organized a “Read while Waiting Project” at KL Sentral last year , where a group of people gathered and sat together at KL Sentral and randomly read. I remember reading that the whole experience evoked feelings of what reading is really about for some of the participants; that the reading experience is very alone but universally everyone is connected when they read. Other projects include KL Freeze in Unison, and most recently Corntoz Pilow Fight.
Prior to the launch of the tshirts, RA had that morning did a flash mob of decorating KL trains in their MTR (Merdeka Train Party) and they used RM2000 that they managed to fund raised and succeeded in decorating 7 trains. As Zain in his speech said, they just managed the best they can with RM2000 and did not fund raised more than that as they did not want to commercialized the fund raising.

The limited edition tshirt which was sold at RM25, *in sizes like unisex, baby T and children will be on sale on September 10th 2009 at all Delicious outlets and Delicious has pledged to contribute Rm5 from the sale of each tshirt to the beneficiary organizations.

I got mine today itself and decided to get one for my sister in the UK since she’s got 5 cats. I call it a little piece of home.
I Heart KL.
Doubt i’d survive in any other country that don’t have Nasi Lemak Panas by the roadside. Haha!
