Chivas Regal presents Alexander McQueen
By: CherrypopChivas Regal recently unveiled the highly exclusive Chivas 18 Alexander McQueen limited edition designer bottle at a fashion extravaganza amidst the lavish surrounds of Café Stelle at Couture Pavilion to convey the contemporary exuberance of its famous 18 Year Old blended Scotch whiskey. In launching the bottle, guests were treated to a dazzling fashion show by highly acclaimed Malaysian designer Cris Yong, inspired by the vision of Alexander McQueen to commemorate the collaboration.
The Chivas Regal 18 is arguably the world’s most prestigious super premium Scotch whiskey blend but guests were also treated a rare and exclusive indulgence tasting session which included the fabled Chivas 25 as part of the event. Chivas Brothers’ International Brand Ambassador, Darren Hosie, led guests through the compelling journey of taste and history.
Emcee, model and former Miss Malaysia Andrea Fonseka engaged the audience with her witty-isms and banter. While guests indulged in the delectable dinner 5-course masterfully prepared by Chef Elson Cheong, they were entertained by talented singer K.D. who belted out tunes by Kylie Minogue, Fergie and Lady Gaga.
The special bottle designed by internationally acclaimed master of British fashion Alexander McQueen is a highly collectible, couture-infused special edition. It features royal blue leather detailing and comes topped with a hand-enameled blue, red and gold cap, which evokes the spirit of the Union Jack and is enhanced with beautiful embossed details.
“This is a piece of art which reflects the luxury and craftsmanship values of what haute couture is all about,” said McQueen. “You can see my signature ‘stamp’ with the blue leather ‘dress’ and the Union Jack colors. I have created a rare collector’s item that those with an eye for design will want to keep.”
We think the bottle cap can be doubled as a shot glass too!

The fashion started of with a bang – a marching band!

Models were clad in Alexander McQueen creations and came bearing a bottle each at the finale.

The pieces were military-inspired with a touch of British and Scottish linfluences done in the avant garde McQueen style he’s known for.
