Review:Touche Eclat Yves Saint Laurent- Luxury Highlighter
By: yetmee“Instant highlighter. The best selling must - have take-anywhere pen-brush for adding a touch of light or banishing shadows and signs of fatigue from the eye area, the hollow of the chin, the contour of the lips and the sides of the nose.
All skin types”- YSL official website.
In fact this item is touted to sell 1 pieces every ten seconds around the world.
Some of you may remember our last YSL Beauty workshop and some may have attended, well I did too and I “redeemed” myself a Touche Eclat after I saw the effects during the workshop and I must say that even in my amateurish hands….cos I never truly remember the exact steps afterward, with Touche Eclat I am still getting great results.
It is NOT a concealer, so it does not hide dark circles but it is a highlighter that is meant to brighten up dark areas of face like undereyse and sides of nose. I use it mostly for my under eye area, especially for unearthly early morning meetings at 7am and also for emergency touch ups .
It is real easy to apply , you can do it over your make up, just colour over the needed area and pat lightly to even colour out…for under eyes, the patting serves a dual purpose of getting blood circulating.
I also use it over my pigmentation/freckles and darkened areas of the nose ridge. Then I reapply a light layer of powder over it. It gives me a flawless look without looking cakey.
There have been some complaints that due to the mineral oil content base highlights pores , I can’t attest to that since I am using it over non pored areas. I do use it to cover dark pimple marks and it lightens them.
It makes eyes and face look brighter….
It is very handy pen size and you just pump according to need, not much wastage. The price is RM133 a piece, maybe a deterrent to some. It comes in four shades. It may be a worthy investment if you are constantly on the go and need to look fresh and bright!

My well used piece
