Last Friday night saw  for the first time, a couture affair at Cafe Stelle, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier retail destination. It was a night of high fashion with glamor and stuffs couture is made off. Guests there were EON Bank’s premier members and socialites and celebrities were gathered to which Elaine Daly was the emcee. Seen were Gary Thanesan, celebrity hair stylist Josephine from Andy Ho’s Hair Salon (also official hair sponsor), celebrity stylist Wee Chee, CY Cheong from Padini Group.

The event showcased EON Bank’s collaboration with some luxury brands, a first for  a local bank . Brands showcased together for the EON Bank Pavilion Card Members were Salvatore Ferragamo, Mikimoto Pearls, Bulgari, Mont Blanc and Canali in an event entitled “Luxury Retail Odyssey” which actually started on 17th and ended on the 19th July 2009. It was an event that was ushered with a bang, because not too long after the show started , a light bulb from the ceiling blew a fuse near the press section, where we were taking pictures. Then one of the models wearing only an oversize long cardigan slipped on the slippery glass runway, which by the way was made up of Cafe Stelle ‘s glass topped tables. It was a novel idea where runway is concerned. But lucky us… two bangs for good luck and the rest was smooth sailing although one must admit to have a really long runway but have most of the models walking  only halfway kind of defeats  the purpose and left a lot of the photographers who were patiently waiting at the end of the runway more than a tad frustrated. Thank God for zoom lenses and professional models …
