The glitzy finale event that was held at Suria KLCC Concourse on Monday was hosted by the dashing Nazrudin Rahman (known as Naz) and the stunning, hot-mama Daphne Iking.

 

Two of last Year’s Estee Lauder Models Search Winners

The third consecutive year of the search garnered a record breaking 3,200 contestants and after 11 weeks of searching, 20 finalists were selected- 10 finalists for group A competing for the below 29 years of age category and 10 finalists for Group B for the above 30 years category title.

To get the finalists all geared up, they were put through a 1-day intensive catwalk and modeling training by Malaysia’s top modeling agency, Andrew’s Models. Since all the ladies have never strutted the runway before, they were coached on catwalk tips, how-to improve their posture as well as confidence and poise before showing-off what they’ve got before the panel of judges.

The 20 finalists were decked out in the latest pieces from Eclipse which were exclusively designed by Sonny San himself. The theme was ethereal which played on the reflection of light. I must say that I absolutely loved the convertible dress and the sparkly bits on the other pieces!  

The collection represents the Goddess found in all women- beauty, confidence and aspirations. The stunning yet simple pieces truly displayed feminine strength and sensuality.

The judging panel included Katrina Liew, Estee Lauder Brand General Manager; Lynn Lim, noted television host and Estee Lauder Malaysia’s brand ambassador; Amber Chia, International Model; George Wong, Product Manager Sony, Miko Au, founder and CEO of Miko Hair Studio; Sonny San, Creative Director of Eclipse and Andrew Tan, CEO and Founder of Andrew’s Models.

The points awarded were based on five categories: beauty, how good they look on film (photogenic), communication skills, poise and body shape.
