False eyelashes happens to be a beauty accessory that women can never say “No” to! I mean who isn’t happy when you’ve got on a pair of stand-out styled, voluminous eyelashes on? Cult-Japanese brand Shu Uemura started this raving beauty trend with it’s Tokyo Lash Bar in 2004. Talk about wearable art, and Shu Uemura’s Tokyo Lash Bar will be at the top of your mind. You could always expect super feminine lashes to downright edgy and whimsically fantastical, made from some of the most unconventional materials.
This year’s Tokyo Lash Bar turns to the wonders of the natural word for an extravagant and exquisite inspiration. The stunning lashes were created by Shu Uemura’s team of international makeup masters- international artistic director Kakuyasu Uchiide, artistic director Europe Mina Matsumura, artistic director USA Gina Brooke and international chief makeup artist Yuji Asano. Their wearable masterpieces depict the mystic forces of nature such as the forest, ocean, flowers and the sky. Here’s how you get to open your eyes to a world of wondrous delight, while keeping with Shu Uemura’s guiding philosophy of perfect beauty achieved through a balance of nature, science and art.
At the recent launch of the Lashes in Nature Tokyo Lash Bar 2009, the artistic lashes were the main stars of the fashion and makeup showcases. Guests were even given the opportunity of an up-close experience to try out for themselves the creative work of art.
She Uemura’s Black Book Artists showed off the stunning array of the collection’s premium edition lashes in a unique fashion cum beauty showcase. Accredited Artists from Shu Uemura were also given their time on the stage to share their expressions for the Tokyo Lash Bar 2009′s statement pieces of lashes.
The artists paired up with Melinda Looi to present these wearable lashes alongside the designer’s Bridal Couture collection of romantic and distinctive creations. This time around, Shu Uemura truly let the wonders of nature come alive!
