Eye Candy: Fabric Flowers
By: karenmarie
So during my regular visit to oogle on pretty things on Etsy, I spotted something so pretty, I immediately wanted to have one. Aren’t they so pretty? The colours are amazingly vivid and the patterns just make me want to walk on beds of flowers! Feature image from Going Sew Crazy. These pretty things are called fabric flowers. They are made into pins, brooches, necklaces and many other things. I figured, they look very easy to make and why not, I create my own? After all, there are so many tutorials online on how to make fabric flowers.
With a little practice and combination with necklaces, I can make my very own jewelry. Not only jewelry, there are no limits to what you can do with these fabric flowers. Make it into a headband, corsage on plain t shirts or even a pin for bags. Decorate them on skirts. Think out of the box! Martha Stewart has many ideas on where and how you can use these fabric flowers. Go get some inspiration and make something of your own.

This one is so awesomely cute and pretty. Watermelon flower fabric headband from Lily Haven Collection.
Now, I just need to find really pretty fabrics and get a sewing kit. Anyone has any recommendation and tips for first time seamstress?
