Biggest Participation in a Beauty Make-Up Event
By: karenmarie
Remember how I wrote about the Maybelline event last week on my Cats Eye Review? Well, I did go to participate in the Malaysia Book of Records Beauty Make over event last Sunday. I was one of the first few hundred who arrived at 10am at 1 Utama at Petaling Jaya.
The event kicked off with a few speeches by the VIPS and the cutting of ribbon by the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Yang Berhormat Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, together with, Watsons General Manager, Mr. Kulvinder Birring, Loreal General Malaysia Consumer Product, Mr.Kua Theng Hong, Malaysia Book Of Records Yang Berbahagia Datuk Danny Ooi, Founder and Managing Director of The Malaysia Book Of Records and Yang Berbahagia Datin Clara L.Chee, Founder and Chairman Of Clara International. They also invited about 100 single mothers from the Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Belaian Kasih Kuala Lumpur to be the first 100 participants at the event. The event organizers plan to get at least 1400 participants to break the record of this biggest beauty make over. It wouldn’t be that hard considering it was in 1 Utama on a busy Sunday.

The VIPs for the day!
So back to what happened…

Makeover begins!!

We were all given a numbered tag and were asked to take a photo of our “before” look before waiting in line for the make over. I waited for a while then I met Paris B, Beetrice and Red Mummy who were also there for that event.

My number was called on after that and my make up artist asked me what style I wanted. So I told her, “Surprise me.” and she decided to give me a “smokey eye look”. All the make up on the table were by Maybelline. No they didn’t give us a cleanse, tone, moisturise regime. To count as one makeover for the Malaysian Books of Records, we all needed to put on powder, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, eye brow liner, blusher and lip colour.
My before look:

She used the Maybelline Mineral Powder as a base. Then she used the 3 steps eye shadow to create that smokey look. After that, she put on liquid eye liner and used the Maybelline Volum’ Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Mascara to get that cats eye look. She finished with a lip stick and blusher on my face (okay, maybe she did not do it in those exact steps, but you get the idea!).
After the make up was over, in about 15 minutes, we were then asked to take another photo to proof that we had make up on. It wasn’t the heaviest make up that can be used for a night event, considering they had to work fast to get as many people as possible, but it was alright enough to continue shopping for that day. Light make up, I must say!
My final look:

We were given some goodies, a certificate and also some voucher to be redeemed on that day from Watson’s, Maybelline, Clara International and other sponsors. I had fun hunting for my favourite Maybelline products to be redeemed using my RM5 voucher.

I left very early as I had somewhere else to go, didn’t wait until the announcement at 930pm at night. I was informed by Watson’s that they did get to break that record of 1400 partcipants. In fact, they exceeded that target mark and got a total of 1468 participants!
CONGRATS!
And to you too, if you were part of it. Your name will be on the Malaysian Book Of Records! By the way, if you did go on Sunday, tell us your experience!
