FREEBIES: Sell Out! Movie Tickets

By: admin

Sell Out, a much talked award winning, made by Malaysians  movie, has finally hit Malaysian cinemas and we’re giving away tickets to watch the movie! This movie revolves around two individuals who struggles and trying to be creative, but soon realizes that it does not pay to be creative. They’ll have to make a decision to remain artistic or sell out to big multinationals and do as they please to become famous and rich.

It is something we all struggle on a daily basis, the need to be individual and creative, but yet we’re all living in this world with people who just want to make money and discard all that “creativity”. I wonder what did Refflesia Pong and Eric Tan decided to do in the end.

Sypnosis:
Her name is Rafflesia Pong (Rafflesia=largest flower in the world, which reeks of animal carcass; Pong=stink). She’s a bottom-ranking arts show host who’s disillusioned with “those over-rated underachievers we call artists.” He’s Eric Tan (Eric=Eric, Tan=typical Chinese surname), a product designer who’s just about to learn that it doesn’t pay to be creative. They both work for FONY, a multinational conglomerate whose mission statement, copied from a Taiwanese company, is to be original. In the face of such pressure, will Eric and Rafflesia retain their artistic integrity or will they finally sell out to fame, fortune or some other nasty thing that also starts with “F”?

  1. wow~ the storyline actually caught my interest.
and i have a friend who’s having an internship in a architecture company, she’s telling me what her supervisors done to her creative ideas…Just like the movie! they manipulate it according to customers’ budget.

Maybe they should just “SELL OUT” their concept of creativity instead of just MONEY ISSUES!!

  2. I would like to watch “SELL OUT” in the cinema (^_^)
Since I first heard the theme song of the movie,

  4. This movie reminds me so much of how my boyfriend is struggling to make ends meet by writing contents for a “not-so-hip” TV network. We used to fight about this because he just can’t stand with all the bureaucratic BS-es that restrained his creativity, but at the same time, I need him to stay with his job.

I think SELL OUT will give me a funnier version of the situation I am facing. Hope it lightens me up a little bit :)

  5. Whoa! i never knew someone would make a movie called sell out. Its a great idea because the trailer is basically being used to sell out to the masses. But then ahh to sell out is to help you later to not sell out right? Sell out 1st and then dont sell yourself correct anot? hahah so random i know thanks!

  12. wow, i want to watch this SELL OUT movie! i think it kinda depicts the situation faced by many school leavers – to obey their parents and take a ‘safe’ course in university, or pursue their own more risky interests.. =)

  16. Just seen it. I thought it would be pure slapsticks but surprisingly it does have a plot. The songs especially the last 2 is very good. And no matter how good a humour critic u r (like i thought iwas) some situational comedy was good enough that i burst out laughing.

  17. wow… SELL OUT might be the 1st malaysian movie talking about money struggle so far…

  18. At last, a film that tells the truth (based on the synopsis) about how creativity and originality is the LEAST important aspect for Malaysian business. In my past life as a copywriter, I was once told by a client that my concept was (get this) “TOO CREATIVE!”
    Love to see this film.
