A minute with the models from…Not a Crossdresser

Starting an online shop, takes up a lot of one’s time. There is a need of making a website, making sure all details are idiot-proof, ensuring stocks arrive on time, photoshooting for the pictures on site and many more things which are necessary.

I believe, when starting a small business like that, support from friends are a must. Friends who would take the time to help you read and edit the terms and conditions, help you with designing little logos and even model for your clothes. As you all already know, making sure that the clothes any online shop is selling is good enough for a consumer to buy is very important. We buyers don’t want to see a sloppy model with clothes not ironed and styled properly. We just don’t want to buy ugly clothes. What better way to make the photoshooting of clothes more fun than to get your girlfriends together and have a blast under the sunny sun.

With a little help of the tripod+camera, everyone can become a model! :) We got Francessca of Not a Cross Dresser who was kind enough to let us interview her models and friends about their personality as a person, their favourite items and what they love and hate about being a model for Not a Cross Dresser.

Describe what happens on a day of a photoshoot for NACD?

Francessca: We started dressing up and getting ready around 7 am and then we went to the area around 10.00 am. We did our own hair and make-up. Jennifer was the first one to go and while Jen was shooting, Bell was there taking care of our belonging. I was there directing and at the same time being the camera crew. When it was my time to shoot, Bell was the camera crew and Jen was taking care of the stuff. So we rotate every time someone was getting their shot. We basically ran up and down the whole area looking for scenes to match the dresses. It was real funny cos some of us ended up changing in front of the pool area cos the changing room was so far away. It started to rain by 5.00 pm. So we have to rap it all up. We were so exhausted at the end of the day but it was all worth it cos the pictures turned out great!

Who styles the outfits?
Francessca: Not a cross dresser is about personal taste and style. So we let our models do their own styling.

How long does it take to finish one photoshoot?
Francessca:One whole day – from 7 am till 5 pm

Describe your personal style:
Jennifer: Sexy and chic.
Francessca: Loud, quirky with a touch of elegance, very Blair Waldorf
Isabella: Vintage,UK street style and sweet!

What’s your favourite part of the photoshoots?
Jennifer: Dressing up in the pretty clothes and being able to take this as a passion rather than work.
Francessca: I get to scream and yell at the models. (Nah.. Just kidding) I love how we co-operate with each other.
Isabella: My favourite part of the photoshoots is getting myself dressed up with different styles of clothings, imagine that i’m somekind of supermodel and have fun!

What’s your least favourite part of the photoshoots?

Jennifer: Melting make-up and the hot sun!
Francessca: Running up and down with a pair of 5-inched heels under the hot sun.
Isabella: Getting my make up smudge under the hot sun.And become fagged and sweaty.

What are your hobbies?
Jennifer: I love to sing and hanging out with my friends.
Francessca: Reading, Stalking people on facebook
Isabella: I love to Sing,bake,shop(especially bargain shopping),play dress up,day dreaming and play the piano!

Fav hangout spot?
Jennifer: 1 utama, the curve
Francessca: Bangsar
Isabella: Bukit Bintang,Sunway,Sri Hartamas and Mont Kiara.

Fav shopping mall?
Jennifer: The curve, 1 utama, Pavilion
Francessca: Mid Valley
Isabella: Sungai Wang(you could get lots of cheap and lovely vintage clothings),Pavillion,Sunway!

Fav clothing (brand)?
Jennifer: Topshop, Calvin Klein, Armani
Francessca: BCBG Maxamaria, Chisato Tsumori
Isabella: Whatever has to do with vintage,Topshop,H&M,Miss selfridge,Warehouse.

Jennifer: Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior
