Jaspal’s third store in Malaysia at Mid Valley
By: karenmarie
Last Wednesday, Jaspal, the clothing brand from Thailand launched their third flagship store in Mid Valley with a bang. Jaspal is a brand which brings us trendy clothes with affordable prices. They already are huge in Thailand and has a growing fan base in Malaysia with this third store opening. In conjuction with Mid Valley Fashion Week 2009, Jaspal threw a big bash with their Spring/Summer 2009 collection being shown on stage.
There to officially launch the third store were: Ms. Nannatee Wiboonchutikula, Minister Counselor (Commercial), from the Thai Embassy in Malaysia together with Mr. Charan Singsachathet , Deputy Managing Director of JASPAL Thailand Mr. Viseth Singhsachathet, Assistant Managing Director of JASPAL Thailand, Ms Annie Wang, Marketing & Retail Sales Manager of JASPAL Malaysia, Gillian Hung, Malaysian fashion icon and President of MODA, Mr. Daniel Yong, Executive Director of Mid Valley and Ms. Rennie Lee, General Manager of Mid Valley.
The event was graced by many local celebrities like Daphne Iking, Chelsia Ng, Henry Golding, Jehan Miskin and Owen Yap who were all dressed by Jaspal. We were glad to also see the ever so busy bee, Peter Lum there with his friends who were Malaysian local designers. Its good to see so many people were there, it was getting a little stuffy as the show started. The event ended with a Q&A session where guests were given the opportunity to answer really simple questions from the host, Bernie Chan. Guests who answered correctly, were given shopping vouchers worth RM300.

This new collection encompasses of a variety of clothes from fun casual outfits to dressy work clothes and even some to be worn at the beach. Jaspal also celebrates Barbie being 50 this year with a line of dresses, tops and bottoms which have the 50 years of Barbie signs on it. There are cartoon prints on clothes, a lot of pink and also some of these prints are a little too childish for my liking, but hey, I guess it goes with the Barbie theme.
This Spring/Summer 2009 collection has a lot of lightweight clothes which are perfect for our weather condition here in Asia. Their clothes featured a lot of nautical influences, animal and jungle inspired prints and 80s neon bright. Take a look at their collection in the few pictures we took from that day’s fashion show.

VERY UNSATISFYING STAFF’S BEHAVIOR : JASPAL PAVILION KUALA LUMPUR
just this afternoon, i saw the cny special sales at Jaspal Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. so, i went in feeling very contented about the discounts with my mom since we are planing to do some heavy shopping. i was checking some really pretty clothes and wasnt sure about which items are included with discounts. so i went to ask the Jaspal staff, this lady, she answered and acted rudely to me & my mom. i was furious and disappointed. customer asking questions are the most normal thing. and she was liked whispering saying to another staff that we were asking stupid question. seriously?!! Jaspal is considered a very branded clothing . but the staff is acting as if it was from the boutiques at Sg. Wang. Not to be impolite, but i seriously disgust with the Jaspal Staff reaction. ( i would mention that sales lady name if i know, but i’m not aware with their name since they are not wearing name tags) .
but i ended purchasing alot from Jaspal but feeling very unsatisfied with the staff reaction. to the Jaspal HQ, please note and aware of your staffs unsatisfying behaviour.
