Monogrammed bags?

Monogrammed handbags are popular among the famous branded handbags. Monogram basically means prints of the logo initials or words on the bag. One on hand, a monogram could just be a simple initials on the bag, but some are usually repeated and is all over a bag.

The ones that have their brand name splashed all over it, usually gets a lot of fans. Example: the classic LV Monogram bags. Everyone who have them, loves the classics monograms and those who have yet to get one, are dying to get their hands on one. I find the LV one alright, but some prints gets a little too tacky. I mean, sometimes monograms on some bags are really confusing and not pleasing to the eye at all.

I don’t mind having a bag with a more subtle monogram like the classic Chanel 2.55 (On feature image in black from this website). It has one small monogram on the front flap. This bag is an icon in its own way with history of women carrying this bag since the 1950′s. The Chanel classics are way too pretty. I don’t mind having one at all, now, where’s my rich sugar daddy?

The monogrammed bags are a fashion statement and it defines a fashionista, for some of them. But for others, they don’t really want to advertise the brand name on their shoulders.

Tell me your opinions:

Do you like monogram bags?

  1. I absolutely love monogrammed bags because I think it defines the brand’s image and style. :)

  2. I hate it. Period.

Some designs are okay but because it is so overrated (read: many girls using them as a tool to flaunt their status), it is ugly…

  3. i just wonder why peole like to buy monogrammed bags? (especially Vuitton and Gucci) you buy it because you want to show-off or you want the quality? im sure that Prada and Chanel will be Tai Tai’s must have if they type the alphabets all over their bag.(everytime you see they only carry Vuitton or Gucci). when i see a group of young ladies carry Vuitton walk together, i was like “is that the ONLY brand in malaysia?” why not Chloé, YSL, or Vuitton and Gucci without monogrammed? you looking for designer brand because you want something different. but… you can see Neverfull around you! everyday!
