So there’s this thing buzzing all about in Facebook. Its called “The Great Escapade” contest. What is it all about, I wasn’t sure, so I went and search for “The Great Escapade” and found this page. It is a Malaysia Airlines page and omg, they’re giving away free flights again. I remember joining their Langkawi “stress-free” contest a few weeks back, but never won anything because I didn’t have enough friends on FB who layaned my contest joining stint (as they had to vote for my picture). But, this time, its all about what I can write and I get to win a holiday package if I won!:) Easy peasy.

All you have to do is write a blog post about your travel experiences be it fictional or real stories, post up loads of pictures and you stand a chance to win a holiday package! There are 9 prizes up for grabs and the top 3 are:

1st PRIZE: 1X Return Business Class to Sydney/ Japan

2nd PRIZE: 1X Return Business Class + 50% discount for your companion to Hong Kong

3rd PRIZE: 1X Return Business Class to Bangkok

Since I really really love traveling and I shall try my luck in this contest. Imagine, I can go just about ANYWHERE if I won the prize. I usually don’t have any luck in winning anything, but I shall TRY (you should too!).

The Great Escapade: My Fun Travel with MAS!

(If I were a jet setter fashionista)

I would usually go to all the fashion weeks probably in New York, Milan, Hong Kong or any other place with awesome shopping and fashion events. I would of course, take any available flights on first class, because, a fashionista like me, only fly first class! MAS has this premium match package where they will actually match the price of your flight on another previous airlines within 3 months of purchase. So if you thought price would increase if the date was nearing, as would any airlines system, MAS actually would give you the same price. So If I were to say go to Paris for shopping, then next month, I’d like to go again as there was a sample sale again, I can get the same flight ticket price for the same flight!

(If I were a retail business owner)

I would have to travel here there and everywhere to source new items/designs for my shop. Find the cheapest, but quality factory in China to make my clothes. Go to Japan to look for quirky items to sell. My business partner and I would love this package because if I buy one ticket, my business partner would actually get a 50% off! Imagine how much I can save on traveling! My cost of traveling would be cheaper and indirectly, make my cost of items cheaper, and then, people will get my clothes much cheaper too. Owh, I can also take my husband along my traveling because it is 50% off! Awesome Possum.

(If I were myself)

I would love this package! I’ve never been on business class before and I’ve always watched movies where they will like upgrade you to business class. I’ve always dreamt that one day, when I travel, they would actually do that. Now, I can get it with this Economy+ Package!! Buy an Economy ticket and you can get to lepak at the lounge with the jet setters and sip cocktails before flying out on business class. Now, that’s what I call travelling in style.

(If I were a student from Penang staying in KL)

I would be all homesick all the time. I miss my mum’s home cooked food. I miss char kuey teow, laksa Penang, the beach and everything else Penang. I also miss my poodle, my cat, my fishes and hamster. I miss my friends. Now, I can visit my mum, dad, aunty, uncle, grandma, grandpa and every extended family on weekends. RM69 for a weekend gate-a-way to go back to my home town is very well worth it I must say.

(If I were myself, again)

I would definitely LOVE LOVE LOVE to go on a weekend getaway and hideout from the world with my loved one. But money was always the problem because everything is so expansive nowadays. Now I can be spontaneous and book 3 days before a weekend and go for a chillax holiday at Krabi, Thailand. Just laze around the beach after a long week at work. All I have to do is book 3 days in advance and get like a really big savings on the package.

Krabi next week, anyone?

(If I were a working mom of a beautiful daughter)

I would find it so hard to bring my daughter for a holiday because she is so tiny, and she would have to pay full price for a seat on airplanes. I mean, for the most bit, she would sit on my lap anyways. I always thought kids should fly for free, eh? Because they’re so small anyways. MAS now offers this new package where if my husband and I go for a holiday, my sweet little kid will get to follow us for free!

(If I were a boy…)

I would love to take my girlfriend to Bangkok for shopping. You see, I love her very much and she loves shopping, so to declare my love for her, Chatuchak Street Market will melt her heart. With MH Flex 1+1, I can bring my girl to Bangkok. When I buy a ticket, I will get another ticket for free! I can save so much and still spend when I get to Bangkok. In recession times like this, I should spend, to help the economy eh?

(If I were a computer geek)

I would definitely spend most of my time online. The whole world is online anyways, even Oprah now has a twitter account. What better way to book travel holidays than online. Everything is cheaper online anyways, think MOFSD and how much cheaper are clothes on blogshops as compared to brick and mortar shops. Buying flight tickets online too is much cheaper. When buying online, you get like 80% off the normal price! Its easy and cheap. What more can you ask for?

(If I were a shopaholic)

Owh wait, I am. I would grab any deal I see, because it’s a problem I have. When I see anything cheap and affordable, I would so buy it. That’s the reason why I join like all the Facebook communities, twitter, and get all the cards to like all the departmental stores, because I love bargains! Once you’re on MAS’ Facebook you will see that bargains every once in a while, so log on and grab that deal!

Man! That was great. This truly is the time to travel!

So, I went to 9 different places with 9 different packages from MAS. I hope I have 9 times the chance of winning that grand prize. Now all I have to do is email MAS (malaysiaairlinestravel@gmail.com) and tell them I wrote an article and I’m set to win the prize.
