QUESTION: What did YOU wear for your graduation?
By: karenmarie
I will be graduating on Sunday. Got my robe, mortar hat and all, but I still do not know what to wear underneath that gown. From what I read online, wearing a LBD is the way to go as they are classic. Imagine 30 years from now, when you’re looking back, you see yourself in a classic LBD.
So, I bought this really awesome figure flattering LBD. Which would be perfect for graduation, but most people said wearing long pants would be better as the robe wouldn’t be dangling down. Now I’m in a dilemma.
Should I wear a formal pantsuit, or a classic LBD or a colourful dress?
After much reading and researching, I’m now even contemplating not wearing black at all, because it is just not me. I love colours and after watching Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s show and listening to her speak at Stylo a few weeks ago, I know that colours are not wrong at all
Since it is a day event, I figured wearing a brightly coloured summer dress would be nice too. But my University stated that everything had to be formal, so I figured summer dresses are quite out. But who’s looking underneath the gown anyways?
Rory Gilmore does not look so bad with the gown dangling. She was wearing a dress underneath.
Help me solve my dilemma, what do I wear underneath that gown?

I wore a Vietnamese Silk kebaya in green since my university is very strict abt these things. But really, you have to pick something light because it’s hot underneath the robe @_@

Wore long white sleeve shirt and black pants underneath. Simple, I know, but what the heck.
Felt overdressed cos everyone else was wearing tee shirt and jeans underneath… -_-” And by everyone else I meant the Americans I went to school with.
Anyway, it depends on whatever dress code you’re subject to and how long the graduation gown is.
