Video: The RM100million “Nightingale of KL” revealed!
By: karenmarie
We wrote about this RM100 million dress earlier last week on this post. Now, you can watch the unveiling of the dress on the STYLO Gala Awards night last Friday. This dress was the brainchild of Dato’ Nancy Yeoh, Faisol Abdullah of Jendela KL and Muoawad. Five percent of the sales of this dress, amounting to about RM5 million will be going to the “Gaza Initiative” which is headed by Raja Seri Azureen. The night had like the most maximum security guards ever as they were all guarding the diamonds which were placed on the waiting room.
As promised, the show started with Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina, who was from the famed show Puteri Gunung Ledang, dancing on the runway reciting a poem “Rose and Nightingale”. She was reading from a paper though, which really made it look very weird. It would have a more dramatic effect without the paper, I must say.

After she finished her poem, smoke came out from the sides of the stage and there it was, the Nightingale of Kuala Lumpur standing tall. Wearing the dress proudly was Kavitha Kaur Sidhu, a model who really stood tall and did justice to the dress. The dark cape was covering the dress when she first came out. It was only after a few seconds that she revealed her dress.
The one shoulder, maroon-ish-burgundy with a hint of pink at the bottom, long dress had a very scrunched look with the 70k pear shaped diamond located on the right top side of the dress. It was only until the end of the runway that we get to see the diamonds in all its glory. All the700+ diamonds are located on the train of the dress which was almost 4 meters long and all over it were diamonds scattered. These diamonds, were handsewn in a basket like case by Faisol Abdullah of Jendela KL.
Faisol also received an award for Fashion Innovator of the year that night.
