Stylo Day 2: A couture evening with Visa
If I were to describe the second day with 2 words, it would be fabulously glamourous! A star studded night with beautiful celebs left right and all around you. A couture evening with Visa showcased the creme de la creme of Malaysians wearing really awesome couture dresses designed and made by the very talented pool of Malaysian designers.
A total of 150 celebrities, socialites, famous personalities, corporate leaders and muses of the designers themselves came in their couture dresses, each of them hanging around their designers and proudly showing off the the press their awesome couture designs. They were photographs like paparazis, everywhere, you see a camera flashing. It was truly an eyesight.
The show started off with the usual speeches for formalities. Then there was a special award presentation for STYLO Motorsports and Fashion Awareness. No special prize for guessing who won the award. The only F1 driver in Malaysia, Mr. Alex Yoong bagged the award for his contribution to the motor sport industry and also his acknowledgment to fashion.
Next the show started with Albert King’s collection of couture dresses. Albert King is not a new name to he fashion industry in Malaysia as he was sewing for about 30 years ago and still is doing very well in his shop in KL Plaza. In that night’s show, he presented his designs from the 70’s right up to a few couture dresses he made specially for STYLO.

Next show was a body art show by Stage Cosmetics. We introduced you to Stage Cosmetics last year, when I went for a workshop with the bloggers at Pavilion. Stage Cosmetics brought in world’s foremost body artists from the Phillipines especially for this show. They were Michelle Parilla Colanta, Jennie Renales Delica, Lorie May Ortanez Quesada and Alex Bulan Vicencio and they showcased a very special show called “The Breathing Pallete”. Models clad in underwear were painted on as a canvas and the designs were motives of plants and animals with graphics which were abstract.

This is John, Malaysian make up artist for Stage Cosmetics. He was the one who taught us the make up workshop during the Maxis day out with bloggers.
The last but certainly not the final runway for the day was by Micheal Ong. Micheal Ong created beautiful pieces of couture dresses for the stars and he was there to showcase some of his archive pieces, all which have been worn by the celebs themselves on their big nights.

Finally, this dress was made in tribute to Anita Mui came last down the runway in the most dramatic way. She danced and posed all the way to the end of the runway and it was then, we realised that it was Gillian Hung, president of MODA who was underneath that mask.
The night did not end there. Catch the next post for the Rockstar Runway by the 150 celebs. It will be posted on another post as it comes with many pictures:)
