Yellow’s your fellow!
By: Cherrypop
One of the hottest colours of spring to hit the runways is yellow. Cheery and definitely a perk-me-up shade, anyone can wear it and feel happier instantly. However, you should definitely not wear yellow head to toe as it is a strong colour. An accent piece like a skirt or dress is more than enough, paired with other neutral tones so that the rest of yours outfit doesn’t compete with it. If you do so, you will risk looking like the Digi man. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
On the runway:

Alexander Mcqueen went sexy with flowers and a sheer panel

Celine was classically girly paired with black accessories

Chloe topped a boudoir-inspired shorts and top with a scalloped lemon yellow coat

Christian Dior bronzed up his models when they wore mustard yellow

Derek Lam went with a simple shift dress
Celebrities:

Hilary Duff wore a yellow cardigan with the cutest pockets

Eva Mendes is a big fan of yellow – she has worn it many times and this ruffled number does justice to her coffee coloured skin tone
Items:

This Bamford dress is a baby step to wearing yellow on its own. Pair with patent grey peep toe heels for the office

This Chloe belt is a great accent to your denim pieces, or belt it over a black cardigan and shorts for a great look

Mustard yellow is a flattering colour for most skin tones but it looks best with a tan. Wear with a blazer and pants for work and whip the blazer off for an evening event

This Jimmy Choo tote is part ethnic with the tassels and is a great addition to your casual outfits

Imagine this with a white halter neck sundress and a ponytail and you’re all set!

This Juicy Couture watch is a statement piece all on its own

Trust L.A.M.B. to come up with sexy T-bar stilettos in yellow and black – pair it with a black tulip skirt and a nude coloured tank top

Wear raffia or cork heeled wedges to lengthen your legs because they’ll definitely be on show when you wear these See by Chloe shorts

Victoria Beckham came up with a new way to wear yellow to a formal event. A pale yellow and grey dress that looks like a two-piece is a smart match with silver heels

This may look like a skirt by Vivienne Westwood but it’s actually a pair of flowing shorts! This is a comfy and flattering option if you aren’t hot about your thigh area as the length hits the knee
