Butterfly on your ear

As I was browsing through etsy on the Malaysian network, I noticed something really cute. Butterfly wings! Butterflies are really pretty creatures from afar. Their wings are artistically designed to perfection. At first, I thought it was kinda weird wearing butterfly wings as earrings, but after browsing through the beautiful wings, I changed my mind.

These wings are laminated in plastic to retain its beauty. It will be hooked into earring hooks and then you can parade them off. The colours of the butterfly wings are so intense and naturally beautiful.

Check out their beautiful collection of butterfly wings:

If you’re wondering how the creator of these earrings got the butterfly wings, well, don’t worry, they do not deliberately hunt for butterflies and kill them to make earrings. These wings were purchased from butterflies which are bred and after they have passed on, they are collected and made into earrings. The wings are imported from Madagascar, Peru, Indonesia and Phillipines.

Mybugs is located in Seremban Malaysia and they ship internationally also. They sell online through Etsy.

SHOP LOCALLY

Shopping locally simply means buying goods that originate from your countries. These may include buying fruits and vegetables that are grown locally, buying clothes made in Malaysia, buying from shops that create and design their clothes locally. Basically just means buying everything locally. By doing this, you will save all the extra energy used to bring items from far away international locations. All that extra fuel used to ship the items here can be reduced when you don’t buy them.

  1. i know this earings is beautiful..and like u said they breed this butterfly and after they have pass on,their ‘wings’ are collected to make the earings… but then.. how sure u are about that…since SOME of the ‘wings’ is from rare type of butterfly. due to this…maybe in future more and more other business people will copy this idea. its ok to support this..but how sure ‘we’ as the purchaser will not contribute to the extinction of these butterflies especially the rare and beautiful ones…and of course we cant memorize ALL the type of rare butterflies.
p/s: i’m sorry for some of the inappropriate words…but i just dun want butterflies extinct from our world..=(

  2. Question: How do one shop on Etsy? I’m kind of confused >.<

  3. Well, we’ll just have to trust that this earring seller/purchaser of the wings that they are telling us the truth about the breeding and using it only after its “passed on”. After all, if i’m not mistaken a lifespan of a butterfly is very short from a few weeks to few months.

Are these wings from rare butterflies? I’m no butterfly expert…

  4. Hi I like the way you do your butterflies wings. I know that the butterflies wings that theyb are using for this item they are comun butterflies . so, do not worry about if they are in endangered.
    Do you sell for quantity.

    Let me know?
