Yes, I am going to get an opportunity to infuse myself with some of Obama’s magic soon, actually March 2nd and I am so counting the days!

I am so privilege to have been invited by nuffnang ’s founders, Tim and Ming to join them and some other bloggers to attend the talk by Roger Fisk, Obama’s National Director of Special Events. I am looking forward to hear the strategies that precipitated this and find out more about how Obama won the election using social networking and online communication . The Obama victory as the first ever African American president is historical in its achievement and I would hazard a guess that the victory was by no small means accounted to the online communication and the power of internet marketing. It showed the world a forward thinking leader who keeps up with the times and makes the most of it. It also promises a president who is not afraid to venture into new waters and that is good news for America and the rest of the world.

Did you  know that the founder of Facebook , Chris Hughes , helped Obama set up his online community. Obama’s Facebook page had 13 million email addresses and of this number, 3.5 million are donor or volunteers.  And if you know the American voting and fund raising system , that is quite  a feat.

Like in Obama’s case, social networks and online communication also played a big part in changing the nation’s history and showing us that nothing is ever impossible , no matter how improbable it may seem sometimes.

So come back and read all about it after March 2nd and I will try and put out some salient points for all to read.
