Date-proof your makeup this Valentine’s day
By: thebeautywriter
The time and place have been set; he’ll be picking you up in an hour’s time. In the meantime, you’re planning out what to wear: dress, shoes and clutch, of course. You want to make this the best Valentine’s date he’ll remember. You think about the candlelit dinner, the wine and the gift exchange. Oh, and the kiss at the door. What about the kiss at the door? It’s got to be smudge-proof and none of that typical lipstick smell. You’ve got to smell sweet, at least, your lipstick that is. And if your nerves get to you, you’d also not want to look like you’ve perspired after a marathon race. Makeup, as we know, enhances our features and brings out the best in them. When used wisely, some makeup do just the trick in concealing our flaws (yes, we’re all not perfect) and make us glow from within. Just as you’re preparing to look your best this coming Valentine’s Day, we thought of some simple steps you can use to date-proof your makeup so your date will: 1. Be taken aback by your beauty and 2. Not mess your makeup when he goes in for the kill, er, kiss

Sisley Phyto-Lip Shine
Smudge-proof lips
The idea is to get lips that won’t stain your glass nor smell like traditional lipsticks. Sisley Phyto-Lip Shine meshes light, nourishing texture with sweet fruity smell that comes in the form of added kokum and mango butter. The lipstick glides on smoothly and it contains an ultra caring gloss so those with dry lips need not worry no more.

Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation
Natural and light
Mineral foundation is the biggest trend to hit the markets this year and we’re not surprise why. Made of light micro-minerals such as silica and mica, the application is lightweight and smooth. It almost feels like you’ve got second skin on! If you’re looking for coverage without that cakey feeling, you might like to try Maybelline’s Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation. Always remember, before dusting over your face with the special brush, always clean and moisturise your face with your favourite foundation; the minerals need something to adhere on to, and in this case, your moisturiser. Applying to a dry face will only mean less grasp and less coverage.

The Body Shop Roseflower blush
Getting cheeky with it
Never leave home without your blusher. Add a lovely hint of shimmer and colour to your cheeks for an illuminating flush of colour. The Body Shop Roseflower Blush contains community marula oil and shea butter to better promote moisturisation and hydration, while its delicate rose fragrance adds a light yet sensual scent. Now, who says makeup is boring?

Maybelline mineral range powder has entered the Malaysian market, but not the blusher… I saw the blusher in Singapore and was really tempted to buy it, but I didn’t hoping that it would be cheaper in Msia, but it’s not even here at all! =( Rimmel lipsticks smell oh-so-good as well, and they rarely smudge off. I love the Rimmel range, you guys should feature them too! =P
